Logic board replacements are usually a last resort given how expensive this is. The logic board houses the CPU, graphics chip, and in more modern machines the RAM and the SSD. It is the most expensive part of the computer, since it essentially IS the computer.
It is possible to replace all model Macbook logic boards though this can turn out to be quite expensive and is usually a last resort. Why replace the logic board when you can have your current one fixed?
Logic boards can typically be found on places like eBay and Aliexpress. If you don’t have this knowledge, or would like us to do it, Rossmann Repair is here to help!
Do NOT try to replace your Macbook logic board using the model number of your machine. For instance: an A1286 machine can have an 820-2330, 820-2532, 820-2523, 820-2850, 820-2915, or 820-3330 – most of these are not cross compatible. You will find the number on the board itself when you open the machine. This number is on the logic board itself, but its placement is different depending on which board you have.
So, in order to tell you WHERE on the logic board the part number of the logic board is, I would need to know the part number of your logic board. Catch 22, I know.
