Owner is knowledgeable and instills good work ethics in his employees. The repair service is kneecapped by manufacturers that don't share their components or even stop 3rd parties from selling replacement parts. But if a board component is unavailable the staff make do with recycled circuit boards (good for the ewaste problem). Unlike at big corporate stores Rossman doesn't have punishing policies like demanding to erase the customer's data even if it's not necessary, or replacing whole circuitboards when just one component needs replacing.

I have a 2021 MacBook Pro that just died. Flatlined. Took it to Apple Store in Plano, TX and Oklahoma City, OK. They both said system has an internal short and for $848, they could repair it. Problem is, I still had data on it that I needed. Apple said no chance on preserving any data because logic board and SSD are encrypted and it's an M1 laptop. They were going to replace logic board which would wipe everything on SSD. Only 16 months of life and this "incredible" Apple product died. No damage, moisture, cracks, or scuffs and it died. Apple Geniuses said probably a defective board but since they're Apple, I'll still have to pay for repair and since there's no activity, $0 for trade in. Have you heard about our "pay for cloud storage??????" Apple quality has dropped significantly. Steve Jobs must be rolling over in shame and disgust. Fortunately there is the Rossmann Repair Group. Shipped it to their Austin, TX facility. They were constantly communicating with me about the status of my MacBook Pro. Let me tell you who fixed my MacBook Pro M1 with SSD. NOT Apple. NOT some of these Data Recovery companies that wanted a $1000.00 non-refundable just to " try and do our best". The ROSSMANN REPAIR GROUP fixed it. I don't mean just repaired the encrypted logic board so that my MacBook is operational again, I mean the Rossmann Repair Group also SAVED ALL MY DATA on my SSD. EVERYTHING is intact. Data, preferences, EVERYTHING! ALL FOR LESS THAN APPLE wanted. That's right. Less money and they preserved everything while fixing what Apple shoddily put out into the market but wouldn't acknowledge as being DEFECTIVE. Since OU is an Apple school, I had to buy another MacBook Pro for exams. When school is over, I'm tossing Apple into the gutter where it truly belongs. At least now I have ALL of my data to take with me thanks to the Rossmann Repair Group. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Just to clarify. I bought another MacBook Pro M3Pro BEFORE I even heard of Rossmann Repair Group. I actually bought it while at OKC Apple Store being told for the 2nd time that all is lost. Wish I hadn't because Rossmann Repair Group had it for less than a week and fixed Everything. Law school is unforgiving though and Finals are a real mother.

Place was great! I went in with a clearly injured Mac Book and they told me point blank it wasnt worth fixing, the Mac was opened and diagnosed properly. I recieved my Mac more in tact than when I took itin. 10 minutes was how long I waited to get my answer. I also wasn't charged a diagnosis fee. This was my 2nd opinion. The first place said i need to pay $130 just for them to look at it. Well worth my 30 minute drive into Manhattan. Thanks!!!

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. The Apple Genius wanted twice the price and 10 weeks to fix my Macbook Pro. Rossman received it on a Thursday, repaired and shipped it back out next day. I happily paid a nominal expediting fee for a quick turn. It arrived back to me very well packaged, clean as a whistle, and working flawlessly. EXCELLENT!

I took my iPhone 6 Plus with a motherboard completely damaged took it to other technicians that were specialist in motherboards and no one could’ve get my data recovered or fix my phone to power back on these people of (Rossmann Repair Group) got the phone fully repaired and in perfect working order and also backed up all my data in to a new hard drive . World-class Mac repair service. If you want it done right and fast, this is the shop. Rossmann Repair had my damaged Macbook Pro screen replaced and ready for pick up less than six hours after drop off. Prior to that, I had spilled a cup of tea on another laptop- they successfully retrieved all data. Their quiet, friendly efficiency is very much appreciated pandemic or not. Great guys and gals.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Long story short my wife's macbook pro wouldn't see hard drive. Upon startup all we saw was a blinking file with a question mark. Called apple and made appointment with "genius" bar. They said that hard drive was dead and to take it to a micro center or similar store to try and get my wife's pics and videos (which she NEVER backed up) off of the dead drive. My wife was in tears now because it wasn't even a definite that she could recover them. Pricing for this according to numerous data recovery shops was 500-1500 and like I said it wasn't definite they could get the data. Well went on yelp and saw Rossman repair group which was a 40 minute drive and had 4.5 stars on yelp. Their pricing was tiered according to what had to be done to get the data and started at around 200 bucks so I figured I'd take a ride into the city with the wifey and hope for the best. Upon walking into this little shop a nice young lady asked to see the computer. She started started it up, saw the blinking file and handed it to a gentleman sitting at a work desk right next to her. The guy says might be a cable issue they're known to go bad in these computers. He then opened the computer, hooked up his hard drive and it still didn't work. Cable is bad and NOT HARD DRIVE!!!! Give us about 20 minutes we have these in stock and it will cost 100 bucks plus tax!!!!! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! went for a nice little dinner right on next block at this great little pizzeria/restaurant while we waited. Got the wifey a nice glass of wine and picked computer up 45 minutes later. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST !!!!

Have done MacBook Pro repairs with Rossmann Repair both in their old NYC location and new Austin location. They do good work. I’ve recommended them to friends and family for MacBook repair and hard drive data recovery. Everyone spoke highly of their work. The data recovery experience was smooth, and prices were fair.

I never write reviews, but I feel it's especially important because this store and the service they provide are one of the reasons why New York is a great city. Amid attacks on right-to-repair, on top of all the other struggles businesses in our increasingly corporatized city faces this is the kind of place that makes this city unique. I have a new MacBook Pro M1. It took an accidental bath, and Apple quoted me 2-week turnaround for repair at a number within 20% of the purchase price for the repair. I could have bought a max'd out brand new MacBook Air for less money than the amount Apple was charging for the job. It appears as though Apple doesn't repair discreet components - they junk an entire logic board and transfer the SSD over as opposed to truly trying to make a fix. Rossmann Repair Group took the time to diagnose the issue right in front of me before I dropped it off, gave me a quote that was fair and reasonable, repaired it within 48 hours, and when I went to pick it up the total cost was less than the stated quote. The machine was good as new. They knew I was willing to spend up to the quoted amount to get a repair, yet they billed me less. It's so very rare to find specialists with that sort of honesty. They knew I was willing to pay a certain price and they billed me for the true value of services rendered. While I never hope to be a repeat customer, if any future machine faces the same fate I know where I'll be going before I ever get it looked at by Apple. This place is awesome.

Unfortunately, they weren't able to help with our specific issue but they were great to speak with over the phone. They were responsive, went above and beyond to answer our question and provide advice/consulting on our issue. While at the end of the day we received the same answer as other vendors we talked to (our data would not be recoverable) they were the only one who took the time to give us a detailed understanding of why and what the limitations were of recovering data from a device after it had been factory reset.

Absolutely incredible. A USB was corrupted and destroyed important legal files. They were able to recover all of it. Don’t trust anyone else!

It was important to me to go to a repair store that I had trust and confidence in.Louis and his colleagues were extraordinarily diligent, professional, thorough, transparent and went far above and beyond what was necessary and greatly exceeded my expectations. This was literally the best customer service experience I can remember by far. I would recommend Rossmann Repair Group to anyone without reservations. Louis and his colleagues are also among the most uncompromisingly ethical professionals I've ever met - as another reviewer pointed out, they literally invest huge amounts of uncompensated time to educate customers on how systematically faulty MacBooks are despite having a business model reliant on people continuing to buy them.Seriously, if you care about your computer, time, money, data, etc., I wouldn't risk going anywhere else for MacBook repair.
