I teach at a gifted school and am dependent on a sturdy 7-year-old MacBook Pro purchased with a parents association grant. I use it for lecture, lessons, student presentations and all of my grading and internet at school. I had dropped the computer and it would not charge afterward. I called apple and they abandoned me. Then he gingerly opened up my tired computer and hooked power up from the inside, determined it was fixable and had some jolly guy in the back room hammer out the case for me while I waited. Then he put it all back together better than Humpty Dumpty and sent me on my way. I kept asking to pay him and he kept saying I could leave a tip if I wanted. I left a modest tip and thanked him and his really nice staff a few more times. I have never met anyone like this man. Yes Louis Rossmann is a true genius, unlike the misnomer coveted by apple technicians who are demeaning and often ineffective. Louis is talented, patient, and kind. And he’s a good teacher too. He treated my computer like it was a person and he treated me with dignity for wanting to rescue it. I hope he does well in his business. He seems happy but it bothers me that he says people are not quick to thank him. I wish more people knew the joys of being in the presence of his greatness and leaving so relieved you have your computer back that the rainstorm outside that night doesn’t annoy you. My Mac Book Air was damaged by a water spill. I turned it on briefly, then it shut down and it would not boot up again. Knowing how damaging a liquid spill can be on a Mac Book, I reluctantly took it to the Apple Store to assess the damage. I was told at the Apple store that it would cost me at least $750.00 to have the hard drive replaced and that would be my only option. I was also encouraged to purchase a new one rather than putting that much money into it. I did not want to spend that kind of money so I went home feeling like all was lost. A local business near my home in West Chester Ohio highly recommended the Rossmann Repair Group in New York City. Reluctantly, I packed it up and sent it to this company after researching it online. I also called and talked to the owner describing the problem. He was very professional and personable. Within two weeks, I received a reply back from the owner through their website letting me know they had completed their assessment. I called again and spoke to the owner because there was no charge on the invoice. The owner said to me, "All we needed to do was an ultra-sonic cleaning, we cleaned a bit of gunk out of it and we don't feel like we should charge you anything". I was absolutely amazed at the integrity of this man and this company. He could have charged me hundreds of dollars for a repair, I would never have known. I HIGHLY recommend this company. It is rare that you find that level of honesty and integrity in a company. My laptop was cleaned and is now working like it were brand new. (see the photo below) All I paid this company was for shipping to return it back to me. Again, I would highly recommend this company. The Apple store will no longer be my first stop for issues concerning any of my Apple products. This guy and his company are the real deal.

I had an iPhone 8 that was totally dead, wouldn't recognize being plugged into a computer or power outlet. The biggest problem was that it hadn't been backed up in a long time and there 5000+ photos and videos of our kids were potentially lost. I sent it in to RRG and got a call from Kevin (who was the tech who was actually going to be handling my repair). He was great, forthcoming with the plan, and very polite. Bottom line? When all others failed, Rossmann did not!!! In January of this year a snow storm knocked out the power at my house and a very important external hard drive of mine was affected. My computer could tell that there was a drive connected but would not read it. All it was doing was making a clicking noise. I made an appointment to a chain electronics and appliance store. They took one look at it, plugged it in, and then handed it back to me telling me that there was nothing to be done to fix it. I made another appointment, this time for a local computer repair company. They had my drive for two weeks but with no luck. They then sent the drive off to a higher repair company that they work with. This company attempted to work on my hard drive for about a month. Eventually, after replacing parts and trying all that they could, they returned it to me, stating that it was lost and could not be recovered. I had given up on the drive. This drive contained all of my photography business back to 2016. Haven't lost so much, I was about to shut down my small business. My wife posted a message to some friends asking if anyone could recommend anything for me. Someone suggested Rossmann. I reached out to them and sent my drive in, not expecting anything but more disappointment. The crew of Rossmann were constantly in touch with me letting me know what was going on with my drive. After some time, they called me to tell me that it would be another month or so because they had to fix whatever the prior company had tried to do. My drive was with them for a few months that I had actually forgotten about it. One rough day at work and just getting home, I received a call from a repair company that was in my phone contacts. I figured it was some construction company wanting to offer me some home remodeling deal. When the guy on the other end told me that they had recovered my hard drive it had completely made my day so much better. I had written it off as a complete loss and Rossmann had saved it all. Visited old location in February 2020. I thought I had a complicated issue with an iPhone, and a need to move gigs of data from it. It turned out I was wrong. Place was great! I went in with a clearly injured Mac Book and they told me point blank it wasnt worth fixing, the Mac was opened and diagnosed properly. I recieved my Mac more in tact than when I took itin. 10 minutes was how long I waited to get my answer. I also wasn't charged a diagnosis fee. This was my 2nd opinion. The first place said i need to pay $130 just for them to look at it. Well worth my 30 minute drive into Manhattan. Thanks!!!

My 2017 Macbook Pro's hard drive got bricked after updating to Apple's Catalina OS (no hard drive was detected). *Yes, Apple's software update physically corrupted my hard drive. I went to my local Apple store and was quoted over $800 to get my Macbook in working order, despite the issue happening because of a known Apple bug. I've been watching Louis's videos on YouTube for some time and decided to ship my Macbook from Hawaii to his shop in New York. I had all of our pictures backed up twice, except for 2017 and 2018. As I was uploading originals to the cloud, my drive died. And there went 2 years, four daughters' middle school and high school memories, and my heart was broken. Two separate repair shops looked at our drive....one of which likely also damaged it further....to no avail. Rossman was recommended by our local guy after he said it was not something he could do. Steve came through. It took time, and patience, and I fully expected for him to give up, but he didn't. He finally fixed it, did it at a price that was way too reasonable, and I now have our memories back. I would unequivocally recommend Rossman. They were honest, fair, and hardworking to the end.

Rossman Repair Group saved me over $600 to repair my computer!My MacBook Pro stopped charging and I went to Apple to have it repaired. They were going to charge me a flat fee that came up to around $865 to fix whatever was wrong. Unfortunately, their “water damage indicator” was triggered and they didn’t even check to see what was wrong and instead asked for $1200 to replace the whole motherboard, which would have been almost half the price of a brand new computer and I would have lost all of my data. My boyfriend recommended I try out Rossman Repair Group before I decided to just accept paying Apple that much. He watches their repair videos on YouTube! I sent my computer in and they repaired my computer (my logic board was the issue) for $462!!! For less than half of what Apple was asking, I got my computer fixed promptly, received e-mails from a real person, and my computer works good as new!I really don’t write reviews, especially long ones, but I hope that my story and experience helps other people decide to choose this business!

I mailed my drive, and within 3 days, I already had an estimate that I was satisfied with. I went forward with the repair.
