5 star ratingOwner is knowledgeable and instills good work ethics in his employees. The repair service is kneecapped by manufacturers that don't share their components or even stop 3rd parties from selling replacement parts. But if a board component is unavailable the staff make do with recycled circuit boards (good for the ewaste problem). Unlike at big corporate stores Rossman doesn't have punishing policies like demanding to erase the customer's data even if it's not necessary, or replacing whole circuitboards when just one component needs replacing.

Extremely knowledgeable staff that care about fixing your device for far less than it would cost to replace it. Don't act like a jerk in here just because you are frustrated that your expensive machine is broken. The lady in front of me literally had her problem diagnosed (case opened, board examined, hard drive and ram tested) for free, mind you, only to discover that the issue was just her broken charger cable. She was complaining that they didn't contact her promptly during the Thanksgiving holiday. She was acting anxiously and kept trying to blame them until she found out she didn't owe them any money; then she ran out. Don't act like that. These are smart people that are trying to help you.

5 star ratingThese guys are LEGIT! Don't waste your time with anyone else. I had water damage in a newer iphone and had YEARS of pics which were not backed up. I was given a cost and time estimate reflective of what was on their website. Their service exceeded the high-points of both estimates. It was definitely not a drop-in the bucket cost, but worth the service. I was notified 24 hours later that my data recovery was complete. Unfortunately, my phone was not repairable but that didn't matter much to me anyway. Great service with these guys and glad to find them locally as well. If you're not in NYC- they will coordinate with you.

My USB-C MacBook Pro recently stopped charging. The local Apple Store wanted to replace the whole logic board, which was expensive and would have lost all my data. I asked them if it was the charging circuit and they specifically said "no".I mailed my Mac to Rossmann, and they correctly identified the problem as being the charging circuit after all. The repair was cheaper than Apple, was just as fast, and (because it didn't require replacing the logic board) I got to keep all of my data.Overall I couldn't be happier. I used the prepaid shipping box they sell, and the service was smooth and fast.

I took my iPhone 6 Plus with a motherboard completely damaged took it to other technicians that were specialist in motherboards and no one could’ve get my data recovered or fix my phone to power back on these people of (Rossmann Repair Group) got the phone fully repaired and in perfect working order and also backed up all my data in to a new hard drive . 5 star ratingI was stressed out studying for my exams and ended up dropping and then spilling day-old soup all over my 6-month old Macbook Pro that cost $2000. The keyboard and then screen stopped working. I sent it to a local shop and they said nothing could be done, but I saw that Rossmann had a mail-in option. I was initially skeptical but sent in my laptop as a last-ditch effort to try to recover my laptop. They responded quickly and told me about what had gone wrong in my laptop, and fixed it so it works now! Plus, the computer is not able to turn off when the lid is closed, so they counted it as unfixable and didn't even charge me for the repair. I paid $30 to rescue a $2000 computer! Thanks so much for being the most decent shop I've ever encountered. I will be returning as long as I own Macs.

5 star ratingI never write reviews, but I feel it's especially important because this store and the service they provide are one of the reasons why New York is a great city. Amid attacks on right-to-repair, on top of all the other struggles businesses in our increasingly corporatized city faces this is the kind of place that makes this city unique. I have a new MacBook Pro M1. It took an accidental bath, and Apple quoted me 2-week turnaround for repair at a number within 20% of the purchase price for the repair. I could have bought a max'd out brand new MacBook Air for less money than the amount Apple was charging for the job. It appears as though Apple doesn't repair discreet components - they junk an entire logic board and transfer the SSD over as opposed to truly trying to make a fix. Rossmann Repair Group took the time to diagnose the issue right in front of me before I dropped it off, gave me a quote that was fair and reasonable, repaired it within 48 hours, and when I went to pick it up the total cost was less than the stated quote. The machine was good as new. They knew I was willing to spend up to the quoted amount to get a repair, yet they billed me less. It's so very rare to find specialists with that sort of honesty. They knew I was willing to pay a certain price and they billed me for the true value of services rendered. While I never hope to be a repeat customer, if any future machine faces the same fate I know where I'll be going before I ever get it looked at by Apple. This place is awesome.
