Reviews

We’ve never offered a discount for a review, and they’re awesome anyway.

We believe strongly against rewarding positive reviews with discounts, and take pride in earning each review.

Many repair shops have found a way to cheat social media sources. They will offer a customer a direct discount if they leave a positive in store review, which creates a flurry of five star reviews of potentially three star businesses.

Check the ratio of reviews to filtered reviews on Yelp! before making your decision. More filtered reviews than real reviews means trouble.

You’ll note our ratio of reviews to filtered reviews is quite low, as a result of not bribing customers to leave an in-store review. None of our reviews were solicited by offering a customer a discount to leave a review! The only motivation these customers had was the service they received while here.

We do not cherry pick reviews and put them on the site next to a name that could be fake. Everything you see is the truth, and can be found on reputable review websites. We retain substantial positive feedback on repair jobs refurbishing modern portable devices.

We treat people right, and you’ll see that wherever you read about Rossmann Group.

The internet has made gathering information on local businesses much easier over the past few years. Social media helps cut through the crap of paid online advertising, commercials, and self-proclaimed excellence to get you the information you want – How does this business treat its customers? A shop can talk a big game on their website, but at the end of the day, social media tells you whether it’s true or whether it’s bunk. We welcome you to leave your own feedback, and to check ours. Like any retail store with 20-70 tickets per day, we get some loonies. What we stand by is a history and commitment to quality customer service and feel this is represented in our online reputation.

As solid as it gets. Unless you’re under warranty, it’s the only place to go.

Had to replace an Iphone 6S screen. They were fast, honest, and did an astounding job. They were so detail oriented that they recognized that the screen had been replaced by non-OEM screen, and that screws were loose within the phone. A must go to if you need any Apple products to be repaired.

I'm from a small Canadian province miles away from their location, and I would still ride my dog sled to see them for computer repairs. What I mean is, if I need any repairs done on my computer in the future, I will be ordering from this specific location in order to get the parts to repair the computer. Very competent and professional owner. Wish I could be his "f"riend.

5 star ratingThese guys deserve TEN stars. My mother's Mac Air died on a vacation to NYC. Well, we thought it died. Her bag was lost at JFK and the charger was packed (dumb, yes, but there was a major snowstorm and she slept not at all waiting to find out whether or not her flight was canceled). She had important files not backed up. Yes, dumb. But she's 78 and a lawyer 52 years. A lawyer with secretaries who used to do all that stuff. And she is not computer-savvy beyond the bare minimum needed to email and compose documents. She bought a charger at UES Apple (the one on Madison in the 70s). The computer would not charge above 1%. My friend in IT recommended this place. He says it is the ONLY place other than Apple he will allow to touch his many devices, as an Apple consumer since the 1980s. I called Rossman at noon, from the March For Our Lives, and they said they would take a look at it. But before that, I emailed. Sure enough, there was an email back to my mother (she didn't see it). I told them my friend thought the port was corroded and that might be why it would not (the light) turn green or orange. So I trek back to the UES from the UWS to retrieve the computer. Trains a mess. Two hours later I arrived at Rossman and found three others waiting in the tiny store. It's not that small but typical for the area, narrow storefront and a deep space with workspace in the rear. The man took the computer and then charged with his own charger. Voila! All that stress and it turns out the computer is FINE but that Apple sold us a defective charger. Mom never tested it in the store, having no reason to believe Apple would sell a lemon. (Yuk yuk.) The man (whose name I wish I had asked for as we hung out over an hour) transferred her hard drive onto a little metal thing for 40 bucks. Also, Mom's machine is in very good shape, though she needs a new battery at some point. He does not recommend that she buys a new Air, which she was prepared to do. Otherwise, her device is healthy. Quite remarkable for a 2012 that gets heavy usage. Even at work, she uses her Air not a desktop at the firm. We then talked a lot about old vs new Airs and MacBook Pros. My Pro is from 2015, November. He says NEVER to get rid of this device, just to fix it when it gets old, and that the new MacBook Pros suck. He even expects a class action suit to arise as a result of the hybrid of solid state and movable parts. The new Airs are also not great. If they die and you haven't backed anything up, you are screwed. There is NO WAY to retrieve files without making the machine functional. That's because there is no removable hard drive. He's not impressed with the new products and says the best Pro eve made is the one I own (a gift from a dear friend who knew my 2011 MacBook Pro was on last legs). I am a customer for life and when my 2015 Pro begins to age, I'm taking it here. They also sell refurbished Mac Air/Pro and I would trust anything they had fixed and deemed fit to sell. Everyone is so nice. A lot of people came in and the Saturday hours were 12 to 4. A frazzled young woman came in at 4:10 pm and asked if they were closed. "Yes and no," my repairman told her. I love this place and encourage all Apple people to patronize them. The juice place down the street is quite good (a few doors down) and the prices lower than Juice Press and the like (except for the Acai bowls). But they don't have real milk. Just that soy/almond garbage. It's not far from Veselka and the Immigrant Bar. And St. Marks. THANK YOU, ROSSMAN!

Five weeks ago, my 10 year old daughter's 5th gen iPad stopped charging. My husband and I suspected a loose connection, but when we took it to Apple, they ran some test and concluded the logic board died. Since the iPad was set up under me when she got it (at the age of 6), I had disconnected her from *my* iCloud. Apple basically couldn't sell me a new iPad because we had no data backup. Based on Apple's recommendation, we sent it to their data recovery partner, DriveSavers, who quoted me $2800 for data recovery due to "widespread corruption" on her logic board. We declined. Enter the Rossmann Repair Group. Earlier this week, I got a call asking me what specifically was wrong with the iPad because they were able to turn it on, and had access to all the data. To say I was floored is a complete understatement - but 100% explains why the Find Me app showed my daughter's iPad location as CA, when it had a "corrupted" logic board… *eye roll* Rossmann Repair Group gave me a copy of my daughter's data for $100, on a storage device I did not have to pay for, AND fixed her home button and cracked screen for another $100. They shipped it back to me for free. $200 and it was done. I would tipped if there was a virtual tip jar... so happy!! ;) I feel completely misled by Apple, and we were flat out lied to by DriveSavers. But Rossmann Repair Group was honest, kind, and reasonable. I feel like they completely came to our rescue. I wish you could have seen the smile on my daughter's face when she got her iPad back. My heart swelled. To David, the tech who fixed it, thank you so much. Because of you, we are Rossmann Repair Group customers for life.

Not sure what happened to this place, either the person helping me was trying to rip me off or prices seem to be much higher. $600 for a screen repair? Apple quoted me 750 I think I’m gonna just go to them. I remember in the past I loved Rossman and they would always save me lots of money, not sure what happened. Also took them 3 days to do a simple data transfer for me, which they also had audacity to charge 150 for. Insane.

2 star ratingI was referred to Rossmann from a repair place in St. Marks who didn't have the needed parts to replace my Macbook Pro screen and lid in time. He assured me they were THE guys to see. Pros: They originally set my repair time for 2 hours, which is awesome and super convenient for anyone in the area. Pricing was fair in comparison to the area. They were chill about me waiting around in the location, which had a fun playlist. The guys that worked there seemed to enjoy their jobs and were kind to everyone I saw walk in. They also gave me a lender Macbook while they fixed mine! So nice. Cons: My original repair time was 2 hours, with a $750 price for repair, plus tax and expedition of service. Not a problem at all. But, when I came back to the store around 2 hours later, they showed me the replaced lid. They mentioned they fixed some corrosion found in the laptop as well. I've never had any liquid accidents, but I figured that could always happen. The replaced screen they used was dim, with weird spotlights at the bottom. Also, when Shane showed me the repair work, he kept holding the screen at an angle, because the laptop kept turning off when it was opened to a certain angle. When I pointed out the lighting issue, Shane took my MBP to the back. They told me the part they used was defective, mentioning something about a connector cable. Then they offered to redo the replacement in a day or two, with a refurbished part, for $300. This was an option that was always available, apparently. I was happy to let the guys do their work. But, they mentioned an issue with my touchbar that they'd have to look into. I have never had an issue with my touchbar. Maybe it got screwed up during the lid replacement, or the corrosion cleaning, whatever. When I asked them to put that all in writing and update it in an email, they did so. Cool. When I got a call the next day, they offered to fix the touchbar if I paid extra. When I questioned why I should pay for an issue that didn't show up until they repaired it, Shane offered to put my laptop back to its original state for no cost. It was dismissive and unfair. I just wanted the truth, and not an ultimatum. I ended up paying for the repair. I work in tech, so I need my Macbook to work. I will never pinch a penny for this. But I wish they could have admitted that they made a mistake during my repair instead of making it seem like my fault, then charging me and ignoring my concern.

2 Macbook Air with Backlight problem, fixed flawlessly when Apple Caribbean and Apple France don't want to fix them unless they charge me $600++ to change the entire logic board, thank you Rossmann Team, keep up the good work, you're doing great ! I'll tell my friends and everybody around. Thumbs up guys ! Thank you Louis.

Got my Mac waterspilled. Quoted me a price and said they would try and if it didn't succeed they wouldn't charge! They tried changing the cpu 3 times but unfortunately due to Apple restricting parts, they couldn't do more but still a pleasant experience and much appreciated. 10/10 would go back again for more apple needs in the future.

Funny thing about good service, there’s no “oh, please leave us a review!!” or “hey, we’ll give you TEN PERCENT OFF if you write a review RIGHT NOW!!!” nonsense. We don’t need it. We always saw that kinda thing as bottomfeeding, and there’s no shortage of it nowadays.
