Can a MacBook with water damage be repaired?

What does liquid damage do?

Liquid damage corrodes pathways & components on the logic board, as can be seen in the live coca cola corrosion video below. The most common issues are trackpad/keyboard damage, screen cable burning out due to high voltage line for LCD backlight, battery not being recognized, or it just not turning on. When these issues occur, the MacBook with water damage can be repaired by replacing or fixing the affected parts at component level. The liquid damage must also be removed in a proper ultrasonic cleaner so it does not spread like it does in the video below.

Even if it is working – like in the video above, it could be sending 17v to a circuit expecting 12v, or actively corroding and getting worse. Short circuits and corrosion from the liquid damage make repair more difficult, and it worsens as power is run through it.
