Amid attacks on right-to-repair, on top of all the other struggles businesses in our increasingly corporatized city faces this is the kind of place that makes this city unique. I have a new MacBook Pro M1. It took an accidental bath, and Apple quoted me 2-week turnaround for repair at a number within 20% of the purchase price for the repair. I could have bought a max'd out brand new MacBook Air for less money than the amount Apple was charging for the job. It appears as though Apple doesn't repair discreet components - they junk an entire logic board and transfer the SSD over as opposed to truly trying to make a fix. Rossmann Repair Group took the time to diagnose the issue right in front of me before I dropped it off, gave me a quote that was fair and reasonable, repaired it within 48 hours, and when I went to pick it up the total cost was less than the stated quote. The machine was good as new. They knew I was willing to spend up to the quoted amount to get a repair, yet they billed me less. It's so very rare to find specialists with that sort of honesty. They knew I was willing to pay a certain price and they billed me for the true value of services rendered. While I never hope to be a repeat customer, if any future machine faces the same fate I know where I'll be going before I ever get it looked at by Apple. This place is awesome.

5 star ratingI wasn't able to retrieve files off an external hard drive and the first estimate was $350 to $2500 (they said it had to go back to the manufacturer). Rossman was referred baby a friend and I was able to retrieve all my information. It was pricey (not $2,500!!) but worth it. I was very happy with the service.

I was getting an unmountable boot volume error that was just unrecoverable from. It's an old computer that had served me well. It had been SO consistent over the years I had gotten lazy with backups and was nowhere near current. I was given a quote after diagnosis for recovery of data place on a new external drive. I told them specifically what folders to aim for and as it turned out the were able to recover the entire root structure in the format I requested so I just need to copy my old document, video, picture and music files onto a new computer I purchased as a replacement once I got the bad news of its passing. What rocks is that I now have my files back. AND a new external hard drive to use as my backup and a reminder to never forget that lesson. (Can you say automatic back ups?) Thanks Kevin and crew. Oh... and they said it was easier than expected and reduced the quote to reflect the time they saved on the easier recovery. Lastly, they were kind, listened, timely for this kind if work which is very time intensive and had a very conscious "no contact" in and out process that is SO appreciated at this time. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Long story short my wife's macbook pro wouldn't see hard drive. Upon startup all we saw was a blinking file with a question mark. Called apple and made appointment with "genius" bar. They said that hard drive was dead and to take it to a micro center or similar store to try and get my wife's pics and videos (which she NEVER backed up) off of the dead drive. My wife was in tears now because it wasn't even a definite that she could recover them. Pricing for this according to numerous data recovery shops was 500-1500 and like I said it wasn't definite they could get the data. Well went on yelp and saw Rossman repair group which was a 40 minute drive and had 4.5 stars on yelp. Their pricing was tiered according to what had to be done to get the data and started at around 200 bucks so I figured I'd take a ride into the city with the wifey and hope for the best. Upon walking into this little shop a nice young lady asked to see the computer. She started started it up, saw the blinking file and handed it to a gentleman sitting at a work desk right next to her. The guy says might be a cable issue they're known to go bad in these computers. He then opened the computer, hooked up his hard drive and it still didn't work. Cable is bad and NOT HARD DRIVE!!!! Give us about 20 minutes we have these in stock and it will cost 100 bucks plus tax!!!!! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! went for a nice little dinner right on next block at this great little pizzeria/restaurant while we waited. Got the wifey a nice glass of wine and picked computer up 45 minutes later. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST !!!!

5 star ratingOwner is knowledgeable and instills good work ethics in his employees. The repair service is kneecapped by manufacturers that don't share their components or even stop 3rd parties from selling replacement parts. But if a board component is unavailable the staff make do with recycled circuit boards (good for the ewaste problem). Unlike at big corporate stores Rossman doesn't have punishing policies like demanding to erase the customer's data even if it's not necessary, or replacing whole circuitboards when just one component needs replacing.

5 star ratingI haven't really had great experiences with the Apple store Genius Bar, even with AppleCare. Usually they just replace my device with a refurbished one and wipe my data. I've been watching these guys on YouTube for a couple of years so I felt like they knew what they were doing and honestly were leagues beyond most Apple repair places. They were able to fix a logic board power issue, they did it in three days, even over a holiday weekend, and they did it for less than the estimate quoted, and the machine is like new - and all of my data is intact, something the Apple store can't promise. I don't honestly understand why anyone would bother going anywhere else for a MacBook Pro repair. These guys 100% are some of the best.

5 star ratingMy 2017 Macbook Pro's hard drive got bricked after updating to Apple's Catalina OS (no hard drive was detected). *Yes, Apple's software update physically corrupted my hard drive. I went to my local Apple store and was quoted over $800 to get my Macbook in working order, despite the issue happening because of a known Apple bug. I've been watching Louis's videos on YouTube for some time and decided to ship my Macbook from Hawaii to his shop in New York. His team was very straight forward and repaired my laptop at a fraction of the cost (considering new hard drive + installation)! I can't thank Louis and his team enough! 5 star ratingI had an iPhone 8 that was totally dead, wouldn't recognize being plugged into a computer or power outlet. The biggest problem was that it hadn't been backed up in a long time and there 5000+ photos and videos of our kids were potentially lost.

I sent it in to RRG and got a call from Kevin (who was the tech who was actually going to be handling my repair). He was great, forthcoming with the plan, and very polite.

Bottom line? Got my phone back with all the data still intact (apps, contacts, photos, videos, settings) working 100%, AND got a flash drive with the photos and videos on it.

5 star ratingTrust the reviews. This place has great customer service, honest pricing and amazing turnaround time. Water spilled on my laptop unbeknownst to me and sat for days. It wouldn't turn on nor charge. I opened it up to find water w/ rust and corrosion and immediately made a Genius Bar appointment then scoured the internet for other solutions since I hadn't backed up my stuff, ever, and didn't want to lose anything. Found the YouTube page much like many others and got an email quote. The next day I took the hour and a half drive because the reviews seemed consistent and I didn't want to hear the bad news I knew I'd get from Apple. Got a brief diagnosis when I got there and later on that night they called and told me it would be an easy fix. Went over pricing with me every step of the way. I had to get a new keyboard, battery and something else I'm not remembering. Total repair cost w/ tax: $598.Dropped off Friday 12/04 for repairs. Picked up Monday 12/07 fixed.Highly recommend for water damage issues.
