5 star ratingFive weeks ago, my 10 year old daughter's 5th gen iPad stopped charging. My husband and I suspected a loose connection, but when we took it to Apple, they ran some test and concluded the logic board died. Since the iPad was set up under me when she got it (at the age of 6), I had disconnected her from *my* iCloud. Apple basically couldn't sell me a new iPad because we had no data backup. Based on Apple's recommendation, we sent it to their data recovery partner, DriveSavers, who quoted me $2800 for data recovery due to "widespread corruption" on her logic board. We declined. Enter the Rossmann Repair Group. Earlier this week, I got a call asking me what specifically was wrong with the iPad because they were able to turn it on, and had access to all the data. To say I was floored is a complete understatement - but 100% explains why the Find Me app showed my daughter's iPad location as CA, when it had a "corrupted" logic board… *eye roll* Rossmann Repair Group gave me a copy of my daughter's data for $100, on a storage device I did not have to pay for, AND fixed her home button and cracked screen for another $100. They shipped it back to me for free. $200 and it was done. I would tipped if there was a virtual tip jar... so happy!! ;) I feel completely misled by Apple, and we were flat out lied to by DriveSavers. But Rossmann Repair Group was honest, kind, and reasonable. I feel like they completely came to our rescue. I wish you could have seen the smile on my daughter's face when she got her iPad back. 5 star ratingI stumbled on my daughter's 2012 MacBook Pro that she had been told (years ago) was beyond repair. I powered it up and a little research led me to guess that the hard drive was dead or not being seen. So I sent a note with that assumption to Rossman Repair Group. They said it could be the hard drive or it could be the drive cable which is a known issue with this model - $100 to repair if that's what it is. I gambled and paid $13 to ship it. For retail customers, Rossman will diagnose, outline the problem, and provide an estimate for free. They confirmed it was the cable and they needed the OS password to further test the operating system to make sure that it boots (loads to your desktop). I did not have the password so I asked if they could use the password reset? They replied "We wouldn't be able to reset the password, but we can wipe it and reinstall a new OS with a new password if you'd like. The hard drive cable is indeed bad on this device, with a new cable the hard drive does show up."I got it back (free return shipping), since the hard drive now shows up I was able to reset the PW and it looks to be running perfectly! Total repair cost $113.

After being a repair person myself, sometimes i have to admit defeat, and when my 2019 MBPro died, knowing who Louis Rossmann, and being an advocate for the right to repair myself, on principal, even if I could just swap a board since my data was backed up, I went to this company. I cannot say I've been happier to use an electronics repair service. My laptop died for really no reason (no drop, no spills, just died after going into sleep) and I sent it off to the repair place, and the laptop came back working. I know they did a component-level repair, something I admit I'm not quite there yet experience wise, and am very impressed with the level of communication, the service, and the repair they did was astounding. Since I felt lazy, also asked if they would install the iFixit battery I had sitting around I hadn't gotten done yet (turns out, I'm also going through cancer treatments while working my normal IT Job @ a major printer company, so very little energy) and the price was more than reasonable to recover what I consider a valuable laptop for me. My battery was installed (Normally a PITA to do) and the laptop was done quickly even though I didn't pay for rush processing. Quicker than I expected. I cannot recommend this place enough. And i'm an IT Pro myself with experience doing electronics and BGA reflows, but I was a bit over my head trying to find what broke and these people managed to do it. And with my data chips soldered in, I know they got the same board working again, and am amazed at their skill as an IT pro company. They don't just swap components, THEY FIX THEM! That is something extremely rare to find, and worse, most of the time it's more expensive. This company is beyond amazing, and I can't think of a better use of my money to support a company that sponsors actually repairing rather than replacing, and does it so well. here is what you need to know before coming this location: getting here is 80% of the battle without running over students on bike foot or scooters coming out of nowhere popping up like daisies ready to throw themselves at your vehicle with nothing to lose From there thankfully this location has a dedicated parking spot that hopefully is not already occupied but if it is well you're doomed because you're going to have to then find parking somewhere nearby and once again not hit any of the students who are out on foot 24/7 365 many of which are not paying any attention and many of which do not care many of which are selfish and many of which would throw themselves at your vehicle at a moment's notice with nothing to lose once again once you get past all of this and regain your compassion for humanity once you get inside this building you find out that they have dual locations going on you want to enter the entrance on the left for the repair shop to entrance on the right is where you get to actually repair your own machine utilized your tools and learn how to use them And while you were at it then forgive all the students on foot who made you lose confidence in humanity and wish upon death and destruction to all mankind and instead regain love for your fellow neighbor these guys may not walk on water and glow in the dark but they are an example of customer service that goes above and beyond what you unfortunately mostly find in IT and they said the bar really high so the owner Lewis rosman is sort of a celebrity in his own right with thousands of YouTube videos and millions of views and has built a business spanning over a decade and an empire around his brand and just shop lives up to that brand and he has hired nothing but the best of the best in every way imaginable these guys lead with empathy and get the job done and are able to repair water damaged marks that nobody else I have found has had success in repairing in any way shape form or fashion I have been keeping an eye on this location for years but because of its location had tried to stay away from it like the plague because again I didn't want to risk running over UT students destroying themselves at my vehicle just to get there thankfully I got there for client of mine who's spilled water on her Mac and then add insult injury injured her back so immediately went to her got her computer took it to this location got it checked in with them they created a ticket it was very thorough while inspiring hope and me that it could actually be fixed because I'm working on computers myself for over a decade I have had no success whatsoever with water damaged Macs because usually by the time people get them to me the damage is already been done not so with these guys they were able to within a week resurrect this machine from the dead for my client preserve her data and again let me know that this is one of the newer generation silicone m chip Macs With no upgradable hardware and her data is all stored basically on the logic boards or the things fried there goes all her data and there's nothing to recover from they were able to successfully repair it at a fraction of the cost of getting another computer but even more importantly preserve the data of my client and I was then able to get it back to her which again meant the world to her recovering from pulling her back these guys went above and beyond to instill confidence and by the way their place is extremely organized spotless and efficient which again is impressive because I'm not going to say other peers and IT industry are slobs but I'm definitely going to say these guys at the bar high for organization and cleanliness and that reinstills encouragement and confidence in my own computer repair business where I'm more specialized on password therapy sessions minus the trauma of people's childhood to get them back into their computer and beat her password Superman to straighten out their password chaos. These guys for all Mac hardware! :)

Knowledgeable, Qualified and Reasonably priced. What more can one ask for? These guys saved me the expense of a new system or Apple's greedy authorized network. I love Apple equipment but if it breaks and you're past Applecare, you may be at the mercy of Apple's mercenary group of authorized repair centers, or if you are lucky enough to find Rossman's, you should get a fair deal.

Taking the glass screen off a 27in iMac for a hard drive replacement was something I didn't want to do myself though there are kits to do - it's risky business. Buying an iMac that is remotely close to what I have is astronomical in price.

Louis Rossman and his well qualified team of real Mac genius' told me to save some money and get a recommended SSD on Amazon and bring it in. Though they said a week to 10 days and looked busy, I received an email 3 days later that my machine was ready. I saw distressed people with damaged laptops and Rossman's team gave them a diagnosis while they waited- or fixed it.

My iMac seems to be working better than new and I will update this if I see otherwise. Louis Rossman makes videos about Apple and the repair industry that I found informative and entertaining - non-authorized reasonably priced places are under siege. He is part of the thread of "urban legends" and I saw one client ask for a selfie with him- A You Tube celebrity but more.

I was victim to a horrible screen repair on an iPad with junk parts done at an unauthorized dealer, which I write about extensively on Yelp. Finding the "right" repair center is critical and with the tools of Social Media- "Yelp" you can do it. I sincerely believe if you come to Rossman- the job will be done right at a fair price. They put a screen protector on my iPad no charge-gratis. Perks of being a customer?

5 star ratingAfter years of watching Louis' YouTube vids I had to contact them for a damaged USB drive. I know they work on Apple products 99% of the time. This thumb drive had important documents that could not be reproduced, so I sent it in and they quoted me three times under what My big city wanted. Not to negate the time and work that goes into working on something so small. They are absolute professionals and I will be sending more damaged items in the future. From the time sent to return was exactly 15 days. Absolute life savers.

5 star ratingI had an iPhone 8 that was totally dead, wouldn't recognize being plugged into a computer or power outlet. The biggest problem was that it hadn't been backed up in a long time and there 5000+ photos and videos of our kids were potentially lost.

I sent it in to RRG and got a call from Kevin (who was the tech who was actually going to be handling my repair). He was great, forthcoming with the plan, and very polite.

Bottom line? Got my phone back with all the data still intact (apps, contacts, photos, videos, settings) working 100%, AND got a flash drive with the photos and videos on it.

My 2020 MacBook Air did not charge anymore on either of the 2 USB-C ports. Apple was unable to fix the issue without replacing the main logic board, which of course meant I would have lost all data on the on-board SSD. The team at Rossman Repair Group was able to fix the issue significantly cheaper than Apple and most importantly I got all my data back. Rossman Repair Group is very professional and fast! I highly recommend them!

My 2017 Macbook Pro's hard drive got bricked after updating to Apple's Catalina OS (no hard drive was detected). *Yes, Apple's software update physically corrupted my hard drive. I went to my local Apple store and was quoted over $800 to get my Macbook in working order, despite the issue happening because of a known Apple bug. I've been watching Louis's videos on YouTube for some time and decided to ship my Macbook from Hawaii to his shop in New York. His team was very straight forward and repaired my laptop at a fraction of the cost (considering new hard drive + installation)! I can't thank Louis and his team enough! Owner is knowledgeable and instills good work ethics in his employees. The repair service is kneecapped by manufacturers that don't share their components or even stop 3rd parties from selling replacement parts. But if a board component is unavailable the staff make do with recycled circuit boards (good for the ewaste problem). Unlike at big corporate stores Rossman doesn't have punishing policies like demanding to erase the customer's data even if it's not necessary, or replacing whole circuitboards when just one component needs replacing.

5 star ratingMy 2017 WD My Passport external hard drive wasn't functioning and made a beeping noise! We went to a nearby PC and data recovery store that couldn't recover the data and they said it was too difficult and they had issues outsourcing because the task is too difficult!! I was in a panic because ONLY THAT HARD DRIVE HAVE MY UPCOMING SEASON PHOTOSHOOT (aka: I'm screwed at work because we need those photos for our FALL 21 campaigns, ads, social media, website - you cannot imagine!!!) So when I went to pick up my broken hard drive, I quietly (more like whispered to the guy in the front so he won't get in trouble naming a competitor) of who can fix this?The guy gave me one name and it was Rossman Group. I actually asked for more options just for backup but he firmly said Rossman Group.So we went to Chelsea and they immediately provided details of the diagnostics and I paid for the deposit. I followed up in a couple days and... I poured MY HEART OUT TO... SOMONE AT ROSSMAN (sorry I forgot your name). I was desperate and needed assurance that my LIFE's work is able to be recovered!! Of course, nothing is guaranteed but I'm thankful for the free 15 min therapy session with a staff.A few hours later, they told me that it's ready for pick up... I was like, "come again???!!!!"
