I just got my Macbook Pro back from RRG. I have to say I was overjoyed and honestly getting my Macbook Pro back was the one time I felt pure joy in a while. I caught Louis on the phone a couple of the times that I called and he is super nice, incredibly nice to customers. I called in to tell him I wanted rush service and he noted that I approved $45 rush service. I called the beginning of the next week to see what the status was because it had been delivered on Thursday. Louis said they were in the middle of replacing the battery now, and then within the hour I got an email saying it was done. They did not charge me the rush service charge, which I didn't realize until after I paid and it shipped, but the was a duplicated repair charge on the invoice that I called and noted to them, which they promptly fixed. This leads me to believe that they waived the rush charge. These guys are awesome and made a daunting experience of being without my Macbook Pro for a week super easy. In contrast-- Geek Squad (Best Buy) said they needed to send it off to Apple for a month, and Microcenter, while I'm very impressed that they were able to do it in store, wanted $500 for the repair, which $300 of that was Apple's charge for the battery, that they're forced to use because they are an AASP. My understanding is they replace the whole backing and not just the battery. But here's the thing-- regardless of both places and even though all my data is backed up on the cloud, I simply did not trust to leave my Macbook Pro with either Microcenter (because they are an AASP only, because they're an awesome store with very capable people) or *shudder* Best Buy. Thank you so much Louis for being awesome, and all the rest of the guys. I don't know who the other guys were I spoke with but everyone was incredibly kind.

I consulted Rossmann Repair Group for data recovery services. A new IT client was recently referred to me, because his main computer crashed and his business database went offline as a result. It turned out that the computer crashed because its main storage, a 500 GB Solid State Hybrid Drive, failed. That part was easy - replace it with a new 1 TB SSD and reinstall Windows along with the software he uses. However, the data on the SSHD was critical and would have meant serious problems for his business if he didn't get that back. That's where Rossmann Repair Group came in. I was already familiar with them given Louis Rossmann is one of my many subscriptions on YouTube, so I figured giving their Data Recovery Services a try. This proved to be a very wise choice! They are the best, they fixed my computer, which I thought it was a lost case! I spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro, it was a lot of coffee! I took it to an apple approved repair shop and they told me that it was going to cost me more than a new computer, and that I should consider it a total loss. At this point I had no warranty, I did not buy a protection plan, and the computer was only 1 year old. At least I needed to recover my data, and this apple approved place told me it was going to be $2,100. I decided to ship my laptop to the Rossmann Repair Group, and they did an amazing job communicating with me about any updates. They estimated to repair it for $700, and then told me it was only going to cost me $425. I was very happy. They shipped it back for free, and now I have my computer working "almost perfectly" (some keys are a little sticky, and the mouse pad a little sensible), but I have all my data, which I immediately saved into an external hard drive. I highly recommend them.

Simply the email "request a quote" feature was enough for me to come here and make my first ever review. They couldn't even fix my problem due to it being a severe legacy hardware failure, but were quick, upfront and honest about it, even linking me to a work around that will allow me to recover my files and transfer them to a new device or hard drive. There is really something to be said about this quality of service, I would have stuck my logic board back in the oven like an idiot (again) potentially bricking the entire thing forever. Brought my 2017 macbook air in today after Apple's "genius" bar told me last week I needed a new logic board. Someone recommended bringing it here to see if they could repair it. I came in thinking I'd pay $250 for a logic board repair but one of the guys working took it apart, cleaned some dirt out of the keyboard/trackpad and sent me on my way(with no charge!!!) Cant believe im writing this on my mac after I almost bought a whole new machine. Wish I had more cash on hand to leave these guys a bigger tip. Well worth the 1.5 hour drive!!! After years of watching Louis' YouTube vids I had to contact them for a damaged USB drive. I know they work on Apple products 99% of the time. This thumb drive had important documents that could not be reproduced, so I sent it in and they quoted me three times under what My big city wanted. Not to negate the time and work that goes into working on something so small. They are absolute professionals and I will be sending more damaged items in the future. I have a 8+ year old MacBook Air, it completely shut off on me and I was devastated since I have a ton of important business files that weren't backed up. I contacted Apple Tech through chat and we troubleshooted with negative results. The Tech set up an appointment with their Apple Store Genius Bar. I went over to the appointment and the individual at the Genius Bar couldn't help me and basically did everything the previous tech over chat had me do. The Genius Bar tech told me there was nothing that could really be done since its considered a "vintage" device. I could try to have it repaired by them but there is a flat rate and there will be a high chance that the data will be lost. I couldn't take that chance and loose the data. One of my friends gave me Rossmann's information. I contacted them and Kevin told me to bring it over. I was there less than 15 minutes, the tech did some minor work and got my MacBook Air to turn on! Also told me there was no charge! I couldn't believe it after coming out of the Apple Store loosing my mind due to the potential data loss! These Guys at Rossmann are truly honest individuals! I never write reviews, but I feel it's especially important because this store and the service they provide are one of the reasons why New York is a great city. Amid attacks on right-to-repair, on top of all the other struggles businesses in our increasingly corporatized city faces this is the kind of place that makes this city unique. I have a new MacBook Pro M1. It took an accidental bath, and Apple quoted me 2-week turnaround for repair at a number within 20% of the purchase price for the repair. I could have bought a max'd out brand new MacBook Air for less money than the amount Apple was charging for the job. It appears as though Apple doesn't repair discreet components - they junk an entire logic board and transfer the SSD over as opposed to truly trying to make a fix. Rossmann Repair Group took the time to diagnose the issue right in front of me before I dropped it off, gave me a quote that was fair and reasonable, repaired it within 48 hours, and when I went to pick it up the total cost was less than the stated quote. The machine was good as new. They knew I was willing to spend up to the quoted amount to get a repair, yet they billed me less. It's so very rare to find specialists with that sort of honesty. They knew I was willing to pay a certain price and they billed me for the true value of services rendered. While I never hope to be a repeat customer, if any future machine faces the same fate I know where I'll be going before I ever get it looked at by Apple. This place is awesome.read more
