5 star ratingWhat can I say? These guys are the best at what they do. I brought in a 2019 Macbook Pro that suffered from an entire beer bottle spill. At the end of all the repairs, a month later of getting it back, it kept panicking and shutting off with high cpu usage tasks. They then refunded me the repair costs since it was not able to be saved. I ended up also selling it to them for parts and now happy with my Lenovo. My two friends who I also referred are super happy with their services as well. They are also just finished a hard drive recovery and transferred the data to a new hard drive for me. Top notch service and fairness. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

Ture Life Savers. TLDR; Don't waste your time with other repair services. Do yourself a favor and just take your machine to Rossmann Repair. You won't regret it. *Full Disclosure* - My repair was completed at the NY store, right before the cut-off for NY repairs (Dec 22). So this review will be for my experience at the old shop. However, Louis recently posted a Youtube video stating that most of the NY team has moved to Texas with him so, rest assured - you will get the same quality service. I've been following Louis and Rossmann Repair on Youtube for probably 3+ years so when my 27" iMac crashed, I knew exactly where to take it. I called Apple support first, just to check to see if they could do anything for me - but as expected - they were useless, and told me it would be better to buy a new machine since my computer was purchased in 2015 and was out of the supported repair window (of course they would). They recommended a few 3rd Party "Apple-Endorsed" repair shops in NYC that MIGHT be able to help me, but since the issue sounded complicated - they gave me a pretty bleak prediction. I preceded to call around to the 3 shops Apple recommended just to be thorough; 1 wouldn't take my machine, another one required a $150 down payment just to drop my machine off, and the other was closed. The one shop that did say they would take my machine was very short over the phone and provided ZERO assurance that they would be to fix the problems after explaining the issues - also note, I am fairly computer/tech literate and explained the issues very thoroughly - and yet, they still provided no indication of being able to help beyond: "Yeah well, bring it in and we'll let you know." That's when I knew: Louis - with his outlook for consumers - and Rossmann repair, was the only route to take. I called Rossmann the second I got off the phone with the other quack repair shops and within 5 Minutes of talking, they were concise, confident, and thorough with the steps and timeline required to fix my machine and retrieve my data; It was a no-brainer. Truly a night-and-day experience. I brought my iMac the next day. One week after I brought my machine, they followed up with a call confirming the issue (per the diagnosis) and asked me how I wanted to proceed - outlining costs, time frames, and our next check-in. A week later they told me they successfully retrieved my data (from the failing HD in my machine) and asked if I wanted to resume with the repair to regain full functionality of my machine or if the data retrieval was enough - BEFORE ANY CHARGES OR ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES; of course, I consented. One week following that, my machine was fully fixed, and an external hard drive containing 15 years worth of data, memories, and work was waiting for me to pick up. And here I am, typing this review on it now - it works flawlessly. No bullshit, no hassle, and EXTREMELY reasonably priced for the amount of work and time spent on my machine. Hopefully, I never have to send another machine to Rossmann repair but, if I need to, you'll be my go-to 100% of the time. Louis, my deepest thank you for all that you do; for your customers, for the community, and in the fight for the right to repair. And to the team at Rossmann, thank you for being patient, thorough, and supportive for when people's lives crash because of the technology we are all now beholden to. And a special thanks to Orhan (the main tech I was in contact with) - you're a lifesaver, thank you. All the best to Rossmann and their move to Austin. Texas, you got yourselves a good one.

ROSSMANN GROUP SAVED MY 2010 MACBOOK PRO! My 2010 MacBook Pro was on it's last leg. It had gotten to a point where it would shut down & restart 3 times within 10 mins of use. I had replaced the memory & upgraded my hard drive, neither of which fixed the incessant kernel panics (shutdown-restarts). In my desperation to save my really old computer, I searched the internet for weeks & eventually found Rossmann on YouTube. I watched a lot of their videos & decided to ship my computer to them in hopes that they could fix it by replacing the crap capacitor*. I shipped my MacBook out to Rossmann on a Monday & it arrived in their NYC shop two days later. Rossmann immediately fixed it upon arrival (same day!) & invoiced me. I didn't check my email until Thursday, which is when I paid their invoice & they shipped the computer back out to me. I received my MacBook that following Monday, but had I checked my email on Wednesday, I would have received it on Saturday, just 5 days after shipping it out for repair. The turnaround was incredibly fast & my computer has been running like new with daily use since I got it back a few weeks ago. I'm so thankful I found Rossmann Group's informative YouTube videos about MacBook Pro's kernel panics. The repair was less than 1/10 what a new MacBook Pro would have cost, literally saving me well over $2,000. I'll never take my MacBook to Apple or another shop for repair again, local or not. We are forever Rossmann customers! *NOTE: Even though it's a very affordable & quick repair, the MacBook capacitor issue isn't well-known or something that Apple advertises. Our local computer repair shops weren't even aware of it! I was basically told by 2 local shops that my MacBook wasn't repairable & I needed to get a new computer. Meanwhile, Rossmann fixed it in a matter of minutes! If you're up in the air on whether or not shipping your computer is worth it, I'm here to tell you that it is 100% worth shipping to Rossmann. They're honest (sometimes brutally so) & reliable. If your computer can't be fixed, they'll simply tell you so & you can pay the cost of shipping to have it shipped back to you.

I consulted Rossmann Repair Group for data recovery services. A new IT client was recently referred to me, because his main computer crashed and his business database went offline as a result. It turned out that the computer crashed because its main storage, a 500 GB Solid State Hybrid Drive, failed. That part was easy - replace it with a new 1 TB SSD and reinstall Windows along with the software he uses. However, the data on the SSHD was critical and would have meant serious problems for his business if he didn't get that back. That's where Rossmann Repair Group came in. I was already familiar with them given Louis Rossmann is one of my many subscriptions on YouTube, so I figured giving their Data Recovery Services a try. This proved to be a very wise choice! They identified exactly why the drive failed, and they recovered the data in expedited fashion. My client was very pleased. Keep up the good vibes!

5 star ratingI can't wait to tell people about my trip to Rossmann Repair Group™®©°.I walked in there to ask quotes on replacing an old HHD in my laptop with a new SSD.The second I walked in I KNEW this place was ~special~."What up Rossman?" I bellowed as I entered, despite never being a customer before."What it is, NERD" retorted Rossman, decked out in some weird mixture of a dog and raver-clown costume.While I tried explaining that I was looking to replace my HHD with an SSD he interrupted and said "hold on a minute", and immediately jumped the counter and started rolling around on the floor, ecstatically, like some sort of mad man."I'm a pew-pew roller coaster on my way to tinsel town, and not a hogwash in a tornado can stop me!" he exclaimed.He then made "airplane noises" as he went around and around on the floor.I was shocked and amused."I'll puck off every straw kettle this side of the Mason Dixie line! Even the spanked tangerine ones! I ain't no bigot!" he continued.I didn't know what to think.Just then another customer entered the store.Rossman jumped up and loudly stomped up to the customer, very child-like."I am very mister business man to meet you" Rossman said, as he stuck out his hand in a shaking gesture.But the costumer just collapsed into gleaming sands! No kidding!Rossman turned to me in amazement and said "DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? WE'RE PRESIDENT PARTIES NOW!".I had no idea what that meant, but that was just the beginning of our adventures.2 million years later and a Time Trucker later, we arrived back at his store (and hour before I originally entered) and he quoted me a price on SSDs, drive cloning and labor.Best darn repair shop ever.He was the best friend a guy could ask for and the greatest space pilot I'd ever known, (and an ever better repair man!).Here's to you, Rossman!

Visited old location in February 2020. I thought I had a complicated issue with an iPhone, and a need to move gigs of data from it. It turned out I was wrong. The friendly staff at Rossman Repair Group were understanding and kind in their handling of my problem, which had a very simple solution Never once was I lead towards spending unnecessary money on data recovery. Different approaches to my need were presented and explained, all with a patient demeanor and an energizing confidence. I deeply appreciate the staff at Rossman. I fully expected (and was willing) to spend a chunk of money at their business, but was gently guided to a solution that saved me hard earned money, and helped me save my data. I teach at a gifted school and am dependent on a sturdy 7-year-old MacBook Pro purchased with a parents association grant. I use it for lecture, lessons, student presentations and all of my grading and internet at school. I had dropped the computer and it would not charge afterward. I called apple and they abandoned me. Their authorized repair people referred me to Louis before they abandoned me too. I showed up late on a Tuesday at his store frantic and worn out because this is my busiest time of the academic year. Frightened I would have to leave the computer there, Louis overheard me explaining I didn’t want the hard drive accidentally wiped and proceeded to start to analyze the problem. Then he gingerly opened up my tired computer and hooked power up from the inside, determined it was fixable and had some jolly guy in the back room hammer out the case for me while I waited. Then he put it all back together better than Humpty Dumpty and sent me on my way. I kept asking to pay him and he kept saying I could leave a tip if I wanted. I left a modest tip and thanked him and his really nice staff a few more times. I have never met anyone like this man. Yes Louis Rossmann is a true genius, unlike the misnomer coveted by apple technicians who are demeaning and often ineffective. Louis is talented, patient, and kind. And he’s a good teacher too. He treated my computer like it was a person and he treated me with dignity for wanting to rescue it. I hope he does well in his business. He seems happy but it bothers me that he says people are not quick to thank him. I wish more people knew the joys of being in the presence of his greatness and leaving so relieved you have your computer back that the rainstorm outside that night doesn’t annoy you. Thank you Louis, and I wish you deep happiness in your life. Keep up the greatness. If you ever need anything let me know.

Phenomenal repair shop! My moms Macbook pro 16 with coffee spills was pretty much done for, we were heart broken so much money down the drain, luckily my brother stumbled upon this shop online. They live in Chicago, mind you they took a hige leap of faith to mail it in. Long srory short they fixed it at a fraction of what it would cost -600 bucks! For coffee spills they usually switch mother boards ect and you get a bill similar to the price of the computer. They are super transparent about the process. In todays age very few places you can blindly trust, and why i would highly recommend Rossmans to any one around the country, they literally saved my mom from a $2800 loss, so happy! Months down the line im trying to swap out my hard drive in my 21.5 imac and finding the right tape is tricky. Ive heard heaps of horror story of screens falling off in the middle of the night... Any hoot i called them up and asked them for the info, they not only ready helped me over the phone, they also went ahead and gave me there supplier for the adhesive im looking for! This goes to show what an amazing store this is! Thanks guys you rock!

5 star ratingMy 2017 Macbook Pro's hard drive got bricked after updating to Apple's Catalina OS (no hard drive was detected). *Yes, Apple's software update physically corrupted my hard drive. I went to my local Apple store and was quoted over $800 to get my Macbook in working order, despite the issue happening because of a known Apple bug. I've been watching Louis's videos on YouTube for some time and decided to ship my Macbook from Hawaii to his shop in New York. His team was very straight forward and repaired my laptop at a fraction of the cost (considering new hard drive + installation)! I can't thank Louis and his team enough! I had all of our pictures backed up twice, except for 2017 and 2018. As I was uploading originals to the cloud, my drive died. And there went 2 years, four daughters' middle school and high school memories, and my heart was broken. Two separate repair shops looked at our drive....one of which likely also damaged it further....to no avail. Rossman was recommended by our local guy after he said it was not something he could do. Steve came through. It took time, and patience, and I fully expected for him to give up, but he didn't. He finally fixed it, did it at a price that was way too reasonable, and I now have our memories back. I would unequivocally recommend Rossman. They were honest, fair, and hardworking to the end.

5 star ratingMy Mac Book Air was damaged by a water spill. I turned it on briefly, then it shut down and it would not boot up again. Knowing how damaging a liquid spill can be on a Mac Book, I reluctantly took it to the Apple Store to assess the damage. I was told at the Apple store that it would cost me at least $750.00 to have the hard drive replaced and that would be my only option. I was also encouraged to purchase a new one rather than putting that much money into it. I did not want to spend that kind of money so I went home feeling like all was lost. A local business near my home in West Chester Ohio highly recommended the Rossmann Repair Group in New York City. Reluctantly, I packed it up and sent it to this company after researching it online. I also called and talked to the owner describing the problem. He was very professional and personable. Within two weeks, I received a reply back from the owner through their website letting me know they had completed their assessment. I called again and spoke to the owner because there was no charge on the invoice. The owner said to me, "All we needed to do was an ultra-sonic cleaning, we cleaned a bit of gunk out of it and we don't feel like we should charge you anything". I was absolutely amazed at the integrity of this man and this company. He could have charged me hundreds of dollars for a repair, I would never have known. I HIGHLY recommend this company. It is rare that you find that level of honesty and integrity in a company. My laptop was cleaned and is now working like it were brand new. (see the photo below) All I paid this company was for shipping to return it back to me. Again, I would highly recommend this company. The Apple store will no longer be my first stop for issues concerning any of my Apple products. This guy and his company are the real deal.

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. The Apple Genius wanted twice the price and 10 weeks to fix my Macbook Pro. Rossman received it on a Thursday, repaired and shipped it back out next day. I happily paid a nominal expediting fee for a quick turn. It arrived back to me very well packaged, clean as a whistle, and working flawlessly. EXCELLENT!
