You might have to leave your Macbook, but we will give you an assessment of what the liquid spill damaged, and what would need to be fixed, at no charge! If your Macbook is too far damaged to be worth repairing, you can take it back at no cost. If you are local, come to our store. If you live far away, you can always send your Macbook to us for the free estimate(click here).

Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.

As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

Someone really took the time to analyze my situation and give me their expert advice. I brought it in for a diagnostic and found the LCD needed to be replaced from water damage. They were extremely honest and actually advised me against fixing it (turning away business!)-that’s when you know they’re trying to help the customer. I also search elsewhere for pricing on an LCD replacement, and they are the cheapest I found. Even if they weren’t, I would still pay more to have them work on my devices. They also have 3 awesome cats for moral support. Everyone was extremely kinda and helpful. Top quality service. I will take my devices here and recommend them from now on! Thanks guys! read less

I ended up spilling some water on my Macbook Pro that wasn't even a year old at the worst time possible (when I needed my laptop and the things on it most). I went to Apple and they quoted me $1400 and an additional 500$ for data recovery regardless of whether or not it was needed. Naturally, my things don't even get damaged in the same way other laptops do and my logic board was done for. Louis took a quick look at it the day I brought it in and said that the hard drive doesn't seem to be affected (something apple wanted to charge me $500 for). They kept in contact with me every step of the way. They got me a great price to replace the board and trackpad for half of what Apple wanted. Thank you, Louis and Steve. I hope I don't have to be the one to bring anything else to you guys, but if I do, I know where to go. Will definitely refer people. I'm also really enjoying the YouTube channel. Only place for improvement would be the stickers that they put on the devices, they leave a bit of residue when removed, thankfully we had goo gone so not a big deal and so minor that I can barely complain about it. Louis Rossmann greeted us immediately and was very friendly and patient. He told us exactly what the problem was and said that the Macbook Pro was beyond repair due to bad GPU connections. In fact he saw this as soon as he turned it on, he could detect very faint lines on the screen which indicated this issue. He was very honest about this, he said that some places would get it to work for a while by heating it up and charging a few hundred dollars, but that the repair would not last long and it would certainly fail again.My friend asked him if he could transfer the data from the Macbook to a Mac Mini so it would work like the Macbook. He said he could and it would take a couple of days. We returned a few days later to pick everything up. The cost was very reasonable and my friends were very satisfied with the service. He gave the bad HD back to us, said it would require sending to a recovery center. Just honest. No ripoffs.In this tech repair industry, dishonesty is very common since tech people know the average person has no clue about any of this technology and there is almost no chance they would know if they are being fooled or how much the repair is really worth. I know this well since I also do computer and electronics repair and support myself and I know how easy it would be to fool customers left and right! I don't do this and I highly appreciate other tech experts who aren't tempted to profit from people's trust and innocence!So in summary, if you don't want to get ripped of and lied to, and are looking for a highly competent reliable technician, make sure you go here with your Mac equipment. If you like, you can stop by an Apple Genius bar first for a good laugh, while they give you the wrong diagnosis, quote you an insanely high repair price, and try to convince you to buy a whole new unit.Finally, if you want to be amazed, look for Louis Rossmann on YouTube and watch some of his videos where he shows exactly how he repairs the "unrepairable" and inspires many others to do their own repairs, start their own repair businesses and with his tireless entrepreneurial positive attitude even motivates disillusioned young students to not give up on school and go to college! (In fact one student said he was about to give up on education but after watching Louis on YouTube he made the decision to enter Med school! Now that's remarkable!)Louis is such a great guy, that in some cases where the issue is very minor, like a bad cable, he even does the repair for no charge! Try to find anybody who is willing to do anything for no charge these days! (The Genius bar would certainly tell you that your unit has been water damaged, when it wasn't, (maybe was in a humid room which would turn the water indicators red!) and quote you $1000 for a repair that would cost them $7 for the cable)Louis Rossmann is a hero, one of those rare individuals who make positive contributions to individuals and society every single day. I am pretty sure that anybody who gives him a bad review probably either is part of Apple, or considers Apple to be some kind of religious deity. read less

After getting a consult from a different group, they referred me here as they didn't have the right parts to extract the data from my hard drive. Initial consult took maybe 5-10 minutes of waiting before they told me they would be able to extract the data and move it to a new location (which ended up being my new MacBook Pro) for $100. This was versus the $750 Apple was quoting me and they would need me to ship my laptop to them (no thanks). Initially told me it would take one day. The following day when I called to follow up, they mentioned it may take another day, mostly I believe because they were busy. After letting them know I needed my laptop for work they were able to accommodate me and get it done that same day. Overall, quick/easy/efficient/good price point. The only downside to their reputable nature is that they are quite busy. Fortunately for me, my issue was relatively straightforward. But for a more complex issue their turnaround time will likely be slower, so make sure you let them know your time frame and get a time quote in addition to your $$$ quote for your own planning. Spilled a cup of coffee on my 2020 MacbookPro, and even though it worked for a few minutes after the incident it soon died. I thought I would go on Youtube and see if I could find out how to open up my device and clean it, and managed to find my way to Mr Rossman's videos. Soon realized it would be foolish to try and do it myself - went to his website and saw that they offer a mail in free quote (I paid to ship, they do a free quote) service so it was a no brainer to send it to this guy and his team after watching a few of his videos. Apple quoted me at 1.1k to repair and once it was said it done RRG repaired my machine (logic board plus some touch pad bits for $600). I thought I was never going to be able to use my machine again and they revived it for me (using it to type this review) and I am eternally grateful to them! Their online portal for communication was super easy to use, very transparent process with no hidden fees. Very fair price all things considered. Thank you to the team at RRG! My recommendations: 1) Don't spill anything on your Mac, 2) if you do, send it to RRG and let them fix it. read less

There had never been a spill or true water damage. At the worst, maybe I had used it outside in foggy weather a few times. I took it to Apple and they said that “according to a red sticker indicator” that it fell under liquid damage. And that there was a small part inside the computer that appeared to be liquid damage. Sounds like a scam. I tried to argue it but they were like a brick wall, and quoted my $700 to have it fixed. I brought my computer to Rossmann and they quoted me half of what Apple had quoted me, because I told them that Apple had said it was liquid damage. Then, after they looked inside and cleaned the computer and changed a few things, they decided that it was not liquid damage, and fixed the computer for FREE. Needless to say, ROSSMANN is amazing and I will never go to a Apple for a computer problem again because it is a huge scam and a ripoff!! “Genius Bar” at Apple, give me a break. Those employees are trained to rip off naive, unknowing customers! read less
