Sent in a SSD for data recovery for a client of mine. Data was recovered! What else can I say. Thank you.

I never write reviews, but I feel it's especially important because this store and the service they provide are one of the reasons why New York is a great city. Amid attacks on right-to-repair, on top of all the other struggles businesses in our increasingly corporatized city faces this is the kind of place that makes this city unique. I have a new MacBook Pro M1. It took an accidental bath, and Apple quoted me 2-week turnaround for repair at a number within 20% of the purchase price for the repair. I could have bought a max'd out brand new MacBook Air for less money than the amount Apple was charging for the job. It appears as though Apple doesn't repair discreet components - they junk an entire logic board and transfer the SSD over as opposed to truly trying to make a fix. Rossmann Repair Group took the time to diagnose the issue right in front of me before I dropped it off, gave me a quote that was fair and reasonable, repaired it within 48 hours, and when I went to pick it up the total cost was less than the stated quote. The machine was good as new. They knew I was willing to spend up to the quoted amount to get a repair, yet they billed me less. It's so very rare to find specialists with that sort of honesty. They knew I was willing to pay a certain price and they billed me for the true value of services rendered. While I never hope to be a repeat customer, if any future machine faces the same fate I know where I'll be going before I ever get it looked at by Apple. This place is awesome.

fixed my laptop that had water damage. apple told me i would lose all my data but RRG was able to fix it and i got to keep all my data :)

I have a 2017 macbook pro. For those who aren't aware this model had a ton of design flaws.A few months ago Apple replaced my keyboard and battery for free which was great. Then it started crashing unexpectedly.Apple wanted $500 (before tax) to repair the issue.Rossmann quoted me $350 (total), so i went with them.When I came to pick up my laptop the guy at the front handed my computer back, told me there was some debris in one of my usb-c slots, and that the problem was fixed. He also told me they had fixed it FOR FREE, since they didn't need to do any real repairs/labor. That was amazing and I really appreciate the honesty because I'm sure Apple would have charged me $500 for the same fix.And yes my computer seems to be working fine.I only have one constructive criticism: which is the time it took to get my computer back. I brought it in on a Friday night, seeing that they were open on the weekend, i figured I could have my computer back by Monday or Tuesday. The guy at the front informed me that they don't do repairs on weekends, so I'd have it back Wednesday, absolutely latest Thursday.Well, half way through Thursday I hadn't heard back, so i left a comment on the ticket asking for an update - to which they replied they'd have it ready Friday or the following Monday. I had a feeling this meant Monday and that turned out to be the case. Thankfully I didn't absolutely need my Mac those few extra days past the original Wed/Thurs estimate they gave...but I definitely wasn't thrilled about that.So my recommendation for your database/ticketing system: please add a date that specifies the estimated completion date communicated to the customer at drop off. This way your company can be proactive and reach out to customers if repairs will take longer than expected...and ensure everyone is on the same page about the most updated time to complete.But again, thank you for the repair/service, and I look forward to more great videos from Louis on YT :)

I walked in with my dead Macbook Pro Tuesday (randomly wouldn't turn on or charge) and Louis and his team were so helpful! At first they opened it up and said that the logic board needed to be replaced but were willing to see if the current one could be salvaged first. I left and came back and in an hour my Macbook was good as new!!!! Apple told me it would be better to just buy a whole new Macbook, so glad I came here first! Highly recommend for all your Apple repair needs.

My 2017 WD My Passport external hard drive wasn't functioning and made a beeping noise! We went to a nearby PC and data recovery store that couldn't recover the data and they said it was too difficult and they had issues outsourcing because the task is too difficult!! I was in a panic because ONLY THAT HARD DRIVE HAVE MY UPCOMING SEASON PHOTOSHOOT (aka: I'm screwed at work because we need those photos for our FALL 21 campaigns, ads, social media, website - you cannot imagine!!!) So when I went to pick up my broken hard drive, I quietly (more like whispered to the guy in the front so he won't get in trouble naming a competitor) of who can fix this? The guy gave me one name and it was Rossman Group. I actually asked for more options just for backup but he firmly said Rossman Group. So we went to Chelsea and they immediately provided details of the diagnostics and I paid for the deposit. I followed up in a couple days and... I poured MY HEART OUT TO... SOMONE AT ROSSMAN (sorry I forgot your name). I was desperate and needed assurance that my LIFE's work is able to be recovered!! Of course, nothing is guaranteed but I'm thankful for the free 15 min therapy session with a staff. A few hours later, they told me that it's ready for pick up... I was like, "come again???!!!!" They were able to recover ALL DATA with a new shiny hard drive. THEY SAVED MY LIFE. NO AMOUNT OF PRAYING TO JESUS, BUDDHA, GHANDI, MOTHER THERESA CAN EXPRESS MY MOST SINCERE GRATITUDE TO ROSSMAN GROUP. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I dropped my MacBook laptop and was unable to get it to turn it back on. After chatting with apple repair service I was told it was likely an internal hard drive issue and it likely would be a pricey fix. I decided to bring it in to Rossmann to be looked at and they found & fixed the issue within literally 30 seconds. The service and the price here is unbeatable. 10000/10 recommend these guys and will use them for any repair needed in the future.

I like his YouTube channel, sent my iPad in for screen repair, and am very happy with his repair service. My only complaint is the USPS delivery who has started leaving boxes at the curb by my driveway. As an Amazon seller I have shifted to UPS, a little more expensive but better delivery drivers. The Stamps.com rate is better than I could get going direct with UPS, but price vs USPS is lower when shipping East Coast, to East Coast, it is a little more on West Coast. Rossmann is 5 star.

Been watching on youtube for a long time and eventually it was my turn to use his data recovery services. I was expecting to pay over $1000 for the data on my phone but it ended up being less than that. Shipping to and from was fast and the instructions and process to restore the data was simple to follow. A million thanks for getting my photos back!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Long story short my wife's macbook pro wouldn't see hard drive. Upon startup all we saw was a blinking file with a question mark. Called apple and made appointment with "genius" bar. They said that hard drive was dead and to take it to a micro center or similar store to try and get my wife's pics and videos (which she NEVER backed up) off of the dead drive. My wife was in tears now because it wasn't even a definite that she could recover them. Pricing for this according to numerous data recovery shops was 500-1500 and like I said it wasn't definite they could get the data. Well went on yelp and saw Rossman repair group which was a 40 minute drive and had 4.5 stars on yelp. Their pricing was tiered according to what had to be done to get the data and started at around 200 bucks so I figured I'd take a ride into the city with the wifey and hope for the best. Upon walking into this little shop a nice young lady asked to see the computer. She started started it up, saw the blinking file and handed it to a gentleman sitting at a work desk right next to her. The guy says might be a cable issue they're known to go bad in these computers. He then opened the computer, hooked up his hard drive and it still didn't work. Cable is bad and NOT HARD DRIVE!!!! Give us about 20 minutes we have these in stock and it will cost 100 bucks plus tax!!!!! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! went for a nice little dinner right on next block at this great little pizzeria/restaurant while we waited. Got the wifey a nice glass of wine and picked computer up 45 minutes later. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST !!!!

Honest service when inquiring about pricing and ability to recover S10e data.

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. The Apple Genius wanted twice the price and 10 weeks to fix my Macbook Pro. Rossman received it on a Thursday, repaired and shipped it back out next day. I happily paid a nominal expediting fee for a quick turn. It arrived back to me very well packaged, clean as a whistle, and working flawlessly. EXCELLENT!

Went in to ask if they could retrieve my SSD from my Surface Pro 4 for me and they gave me a good rate, but was still a bit too expensive for me. So, they let me use their equipment for about an hour until I was able to fish it out myself and recover my data.

Phenomenal repair shop! My moms Macbook pro 16 with coffee spills was pretty much done for, we were heart broken so much money down the drain, luckily my brother stumbled upon this shop online. They live in Chicago, mind you they took a hige leap of faith to mail it in. Long srory short they fixed it at a fraction of what it would cost -600 bucks! For coffee spills they usually switch mother boards ect and you get a bill similar to the price of the computer. They are super transparent about the process. In todays age very few places you can blindly trust, and why i would highly recommend Rossmans to any one around the country, they literally saved my mom from a $2800 loss, so happy! Months down the line im trying to swap out my hard drive in my 21.5 imac and finding the right tape is tricky. Ive heard heaps of horror story of screens falling off in the middle of the night... Any hoot i called them up and asked them for the info, they not only ready helped me over the phone, they also went ahead and gave me there supplier for the adhesive im looking for! This goes to show what an amazing store this is! Thanks guys you rock!
