Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.

macbook water damage repair

As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

When you come to Rossmann’s, WE fix it!

What sets Rossmann Repair Group apart? Most companies must outsource component-level motherboard repair because they don’t know how to do it or they don’t have the necessary tools. 5 star ratingThank you Rossmann Repair Group for your honest and timely work on my 2014 15" Macbook Pro. I want to share my story here, after dropping off my Mackbook at a local Atlanta are Apple Store to repair a suspected swollen battery. I got a follow-up phone call stating that they would not replace my battery due to water damage unless the logic board was also replaced for a price exceeding $1400. When I went to the Apple Store to retrieve my Macbook, I was also able to get their photographic "evidence" of water damage. When got home I sent the photos to Rossman Repair Group, and they stated that the yellow substance on the circuit board that was common on boards from the factory and not evidence of water damage. I then sent my computer to their facility in New York, where the Rossman facility inspected my computer and replaced the swollen battery for $200, and now my computer back in action. When I was at the Apple store retrieving my notebook I felt like I was being played into writing-off my 5 year old notebook so that I would buy a new one. I hope that other people will read this review and consider independent repair options before taking what the geniuses at the Apple store may say as fact and then and throwing their money away.

5 star ratingI was referred to Rossman by several friends/family. I splashed a small amount of water on my MacBook Air keyboard and track pad and powered it down quickly after. I was unable to turn the computer back on after waiting 48 hrs. Apple Genius Bar informed me I would have to pay 800 to replace the logic board. I stopped into Rossman and they had my computer up and running in 15 minutes with a quick change of wire that was damaged due to the minimal water damage. I was so impressed with how quickly they resolved my issue and the fact that they did not charge me for services!! Thank you Rossman computer!

5 star ratingTwice was saved by Rossmann Repair. First it was liquid damaged MacBook Air, now Iphone SE 2020 who conveniently, after 1 year manufacturer warranty ran out, threw vertical stripes over the screen. Very reasonable repair pricing. Both times used mail in option, since parking nearby is “mission impossible”.

I spilled a spoonful of milk and cereal on my Macbook Air and two weeks later, the wifi stops working. I walked in for a diagnosis and it turned out that replacing the wifi card twice didn't work. One of his employees told me that something was wrong with the logic board and it'd be $325. I accepted this, knowing Apple would have charged me twice the price most likely. Two days later, I get a call in the morning that my machine is ready for pickup. I get there and ask the guy how much it'd be and he told me they won't actually charge me, and instead asked for a good tip. I left $40 in the tip jar. So there you go folks. 40 bucks for what would have cost hundreds at Apple. Skip the Apple Store and take your machine to Rossmann.

5 star ratingI'm in disbelief that I'm writing this from my MacBook which I had written off as totaled after a major coffee spill. Took it to a local place that didn't fix motherboards but gave me the tip for Rossman Group. Felt like a long shot mailing my laptop to NYC, but wow such a professional process at a fair price, and if they can't fix it they don't charge you. But they FIXED it. Like nothing happened fixed it, and then actually mailed it back to me. I'm so impressed and relieved, thank you Rossman Group.

5 star ratingExcellent Mac repair service! We had a little issue with water spillage on a new MacBook Air and the good people at Rossmann Repair Group came to the rescue. Fast, no-cost estimate, excellent internal tracking and notification system where clients can post directly to the service ticket, very reasonable repair rates (much better than Apple), and efficient return of the repaired laptop. Big thanks to the team at RRG for this great job!

Had my 2021 14" M1 Macbook Pro repaired after it randomly died one night (no liquid damage, no charger light). Turns out it was a logic board issue. Mailed it in and had a diagnosis in less than a week. Repair was quick and put in the mail to ship back the next business day. Communicative, fast turnaround, and fair pricing. Cheaper and faster than if I sent it in to Apple (don't have applecare). Plus they make the return box near bulletproof. I could punt it and there wouldn't even be a scuff on the laptop. Fingers crossed no more issues will come up, but will use them again in the future if they do.

I took my computer to Apple after it broke for apparently no reason. It just stopped working one day as I was typing, mid sentence. There had never been a spill or true water damage. At the worst, maybe I had used it outside in foggy weather a few times. I took it to Apple and they said that “according to a red sticker indicator” that it fell under liquid damage. And that there was a small part inside the computer that appeared to be liquid damage. Sounds like a scam. I tried to argue it but they were like a brick wall, and quoted my $700 to have it fixed. I brought my computer to Rossmann and they quoted me half of what Apple had quoted me, because I told them that Apple had said it was liquid damage. Then, after they looked inside and cleaned the computer and changed a few things, they decided that it was not liquid damage, and fixed the computer for FREE. Needless to say, ROSSMANN is amazing and I will never go to a Apple for a computer problem again because it is a huge scam and a ripoff!! “Genius Bar” at Apple, give me a break. Those employees are trained to rip off naive, unknowing customers!

What can I say other than cheers...your are an oasis in a desert of planned obsolescence! Some water damage had my MacBook Air acting up...smc non resettable, fans running constantly, then my keyboard bugged out with nonsense coming from all of its keys... Genius Bar quoted me a repair requiring an entire logic board replacement...was my 2015 Air even worth that cost anymore? There it sat, with me vacillating between the refurbished store and a 'college try' at a repair A local certified Apple repair guy WAS able to simply replace a cable, and the sensors that had failed in the logic board according to Genius Bar now worked fine, trouble was that my own inquisitive (read maladroit) nature found me breaking the battery connector off the board while monkeying around inside the Air, a repair which the local independent tried to fix without success (pads were gone he said..no joy for me). Again I was looking at logic board replacement for 'slightly' less than Genius Bar repair, or to just use it as a constantly plugged in desktop machine(???). Upon pick up at my local guy I immediately put it into the mail to Louis and the guys at Rossmann...little more than a week later I am typing this review on said formerly wet and sad MacBook Air. In fact, they even honored the lower of the two quotes I was sent! That said, there is no going back for me. My exposure to Rossmann Repair Group was initially through late night viewings of his youtube channel, whether it was the measured delivery of his absolute common sense views on 'right to repair' issues, or indeed, of the world in general, perhaps it also being a 'relaxation video' (like watching paints being swirled together or cookies being frosted) aspect of watching heated liquid flux run across a board, I honestly don't know...but I'll take it all! Bravo!

They are the best, they fixed my computer, which I thought it was a lost case! I spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro, it was a lot of coffee! I took it to an apple approved repair shop and they told me that it was going to cost me more than a new computer, and that I should consider it a total loss. At this point I had no warranty, I did not buy a protection plan, and the computer was only 1 year old. At least I needed to recover my data, and this apple approved place told me it was going to be $2,100. I decided to ship my laptop to the Rossmann Repair Group, and they did an amazing job communicating with me about any updates. They estimated to repair it for $700, and then told me it was only going to cost me $425. I was very happy. They shipped it back for free, and now I have my computer working "almost perfectly" (some keys are a little sticky, and the mouse pad a little sensible), but I have all my data, which I immediately saved into an external hard drive. I highly recommend them.

These guys are the best in the business. I sent in a MacBook for and analysis to see if my laptop was worth saving from water damage. They gave me a complete detailed report as to why it wasn't. This came in handy when I went to sell the unit for parts on eBay. I copied all the notes and used them in my description so to completely inform the buyer. You get what you pay for and these guys are worth every cent.

What can I say? These guys are the best at what they do. I brought in a 2019 Macbook Pro that suffered from an entire beer bottle spill. At the end of all the repairs, a month later of getting it back, it kept panicking and shutting off with high cpu usage tasks. They then refunded me the repair costs since it was not able to be saved. I ended up also selling it to them for parts and now happy with my Lenovo. My two friends who I also referred are super happy with their services as well. They are also just finished a hard drive recovery and transferred the data to a new hard drive for me. Top notch service and fairness. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
