You might have to leave your Macbook, but we will give you an assessment of what the liquid spill damaged, and what would need to be fixed, at no charge! If your Macbook is too far damaged to be worth repairing, you can take it back at no cost. If you are local, come to our store. Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.
As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

Giving a price without seeing the device, assessing its condition is impossible. Everyone feels better having some basic idea of what things may cost, so for a basic idea, see below. Do realize the + means price can go up! Please do note that drives that have been opened before are rarely if ever recoverable by us: mention this prior to sending it in as we rarely work on pre-worked on drives.

My glass of water was sitting next to the computer, and I reached for something...and knocked it over right onto the keyboard. YIkes. Spilled water on my MacBook Air keyboard, decided to send it in, and had it back on my doorstep full functional within a week and a half. I was referred to Rossman by several friends/family. I splashed a small amount of water on my MacBook Air keyboard and track pad and powered it down quickly after. I was unable to turn the computer back on after waiting 48 hrs. Apple Genius Bar informed me I would have to pay 800 to replace the logic board. I stopped into Rossman and they had my computer up and running in 15 minutes with a quick change of wire that was damaged due to the minimal water damage. I was so impressed with how quickly they resolved my issue and the fact that they did not charge me for services!! Thank you Rossman computer!

I initially took my water-damaged MacBook Air to the Genius Bar in VA. The technician took my laptop apart and informed me that the water spill on my laptop had already caused corrosion on my logic board (which is why my laptop was still able to power on however to an almost black screen). He then asked if I have ever heard of Rossmann Group in NY--I have never heard of Rossmann Group nor seen Louis' YouTube videos. After some research, I was confident in sending my laptop to NY for an estimate. The group was able to give me an estimate and service my laptop (which included a logic board repair, LCD cable and battery replacement) all for HALF the price of Apple's flat fix rate. The entire process from sending it in to receiving my newly repaired laptop took exactly two weeks! During the span of those two weeks, I spoke to three different technicians on call who were happy to answer any of my questions. All were aware of my device and what's going on due to how organized they were. My laptop works like new and I am so happy with the service they provided. Highly recommend this place and thankful to the Apple technician who led me here.

Can't recommend them and their services enough. I spilled coffee on my MacBook Air keyboard, and it shut down and wouldn't turn on after a few days. I remembered seeing their repair videos on youtube a while back so I figured I'd give them a shot. They received my computer on Monday and had it back on my doorstep Friday, spotless and working as if nothing had happened. Let me first note that I have been in the computer repair business since 2002. Of course, computer repair encompasses a very wide spectrum these days, and my expertise is more in Windows/Mac software, networking and general upgrades. When it comes to board/circuit repair - that's not me. I let the pro's handle it. When it comes to Apple, if it's under warranty (or the Genius Bar folks are feeling kind) I will let them do the repairs, as I'm local in Orange County, CA. Now then, liquid damage to Mac's or out-of-warranty repair I trust only one firm - Rossmann Repair Group. I'm sure there is someone here local but after watching Louis's Youtube videos and experiencing their work first hand, I can confidently recommend them. It's a $25 trip across the country USPS Priority so no big deal. I also want to take this opportunity to thank Steve in particular who stays in communication and follows up promptly when necessary. This is my second time sending my laptop for a repair. Liquid damage the first time and this time a broken screen. They are reasonable with prices (Apple quoted me the price I paid for the laptop!!) Spilled smoothie on a brand new two week old Airbook. Apple repair was going to be $1100. Bought new Airbook but couldn't throw out damaged one. A few months later learned of Rossmann Group through You Tube video. They fixed for $350. My son now has an Airbook that has been perfect for 2 years.

Well Apple Care doesn't care that much unless instead of repair, they'd tell you to buy a mac product. I went in and they suggested it at first. I declined when they told me the price difference for a brand new macbook pro and the price to repair the one I currently possess. Now they said 755 for water damage, and honestly I was at my wit's end. Until I saw their vid, from one to another, I went to the store explained my situation in detail. Price, probable damage, and others, with a fair price. Well I'm writing from said mac, paid less, it was less severe than what Apple thought and I was satisfied completely by Rossman Group's service. I would recommend them to all of my family/friends. Thank You once again.

Take your tech to Rossman!!! They are awesome and infinitely more helpful than going to the Apple store!! I took my water-damaged MacBook there and was met with patience and honesty. After making a quick check - in my plain sight, NOT secretly behind closed doors - to determine that my laptop could probably be repaired, they walked me through the process and the cost structure. I would pay the basic repair cost ONLY IF THEY SUCCEEDED in repairing it. Also they would keep me informed and would not proceed with anything requiring an additional cost without obtaining my approval first. I agreed to start the process and was pleasantly surprised that there was also NO UPFRONT COST! That's how fair and confident they are!I HIGHLY recommend RRG and would go there again for a repair in a heartbeat. i called two reputable apple repair shops that are still open during this pandemic to fix my macbook pro which had a bit of water damage - rossman & mikey's hook up in williamsburg. i called mikey's first to ask if they could possibly give me a ballpark estimate over the phone and turnaround time. the person who answered was rude, refused to give any sort of pricing, said it would cost $80 just to look at it, and turnaround times are at least 3 weeks right now. then i called rossman's, which is twice as far from me. the person who picked up was professional, took the time to give me a range of ballpark prices depending on different possibilities, said there is no diagnostic fee, and estimated a 5-7 day turnaround. i immediately chose rossman's. the price was reasonable + accurate to what he described, and they got it fixed for me in 3 days. plus there's a warranty. i'm glad i went the extra distance to see these guys and i've already started to recommended them.

Nice Honest business. Apple told me it would be $1,600 to fix my laptop due to spilled water without touching it. Brought it here and was quoted $450. Luckily it was a smaller repair and walked or passing under$200. Was a little dustier than when I left it, and they took care of it before I left.read more
