If your Macbook is too far damaged to be worth repairing, you can take it back at no cost. If you are local, come to our store. Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.
As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

Giving a price without seeing the device, assessing its condition is impossible. Everyone feels better having some basic idea of what things may cost, so for a basic idea, see below. Do realize the + means price can go up! Please do note that drives that have been opened before are rarely if ever recoverable by us: mention this prior to sending it in as we rarely work on pre-worked on drives.

Had an amazing experience working with Rossman Repair Group. Spilled a cup of coffee on my 2020 MacbookPro, and even though it worked for a few minutes after the incident it soon died. I thought I would go on Youtube and see if I could find out how to open up my device and clean it, and managed to find my way to Mr Rossman's videos. Soon realized it would be foolish to try and do it myself - went to his website and saw that they offer a mail in free quote (I paid to ship, they do a free quote) service so it was a no brainer to send it to this guy and his team after watching a few of his videos. Apple quoted me at 1.1k to repair and once it was said it done RRG repaired my machine (logic board plus some touch pad bits for $600). I thought I was never going to be able to use my machine again and they revived it for me (using it to type this review) and I am eternally grateful to them! Their online portal for communication was super easy to use, very transparent process with no hidden fees. Very fair price all things considered. Thank you to the team at RRG! My recommendations: 1) Don't spill anything on your Mac, 2) if you do, send it to RRG and let them fix it.

They are the best, they fixed my computer, which I thought it was a lost case! I spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro, it was a lot of coffee! I took it to an apple approved repair shop and they told me that it was going to cost me more than a new computer, and that I should consider it a total loss. At this point I had no warranty, I did not buy a protection plan, and the computer was only 1 year old. At least I needed to recover my data, and this apple approved place told me it was going to be $2,100. I decided to ship my laptop to the Rossmann Repair Group, and they did an amazing job communicating with me about any updates. They estimated to repair it for $700, and then told me it was only going to cost me $425. I was very happy. They shipped it back for free, and now I have my computer working "almost perfectly" (some keys are a little sticky, and the mouse pad a little sensible), but I have all my data, which I immediately saved into an external hard drive. I highly recommend them.read more

My MacBook Air got dropped in a body of water and stopped turning on. After getting a consult from a different group, they referred me here as they didn't have the right parts to extract the data from my hard drive. Initial consult took maybe 5-10 minutes of waiting before they told me they would be able to extract the data and move it to a new location (which ended up being my new MacBook Pro) for $100. This was versus the $750 Apple was quoting me and they would need me to ship my laptop to them (no thanks). Initially told me it would take one day. The following day when I called to follow up, they mentioned it may take another day, mostly I believe because they were busy. After letting them know I needed my laptop for work they were able to accommodate me and get it done that same day. Overall, quick/easy/efficient/good price point. The only downside to their reputable nature is that they are quite busy. Fortunately for me, my issue was relatively straightforward. But for a more complex issue their turnaround time will likely be slower, so make sure you let them know your time frame and get a time quote in addition to your $$$ quote for your own planning. These guys are LEGIT! Don't waste your time with anyone else. I had water damage in a newer iphone and had YEARS of pics which were not backed up. I was given a cost and time estimate reflective of what was on their website. Their service exceeded the high-points of both estimates. It was definitely not a drop-in the bucket cost, but worth the service. I was notified 24 hours later that my data recovery was complete. Unfortunately, my phone was not repairable but that didn't matter much to me anyway. Great service with these guys and glad to find them locally as well. If you're not in NYC- they will coordinate with you.

They are the best! My daughter spilled water on her keyboard. Apple store would charge $750 even though we still are in warranty saying they don't cover water damage. Rossmann group fixed it would Q-tips and didn't charge me anything! just told me "next time bring in something really broken". Will tell all my friends to go here for tech need! I don't usually write reviews but they are just so great that I had to tell people!

I was stressed out studying for my exams and ended up dropping and then spilling day-old soup all over my 6-month old Macbook Pro that cost $2000. The keyboard and then screen stopped working. I sent it to a local shop and they said nothing could be done, but I saw that Rossmann had a mail-in option. I was initially skeptical but sent in my laptop as a last-ditch effort to try to recover my laptop. They responded quickly and told me about what had gone wrong in my laptop, and fixed it so it works now! Plus, the computer is not able to turn off when the lid is closed, so they counted it as unfixable and didn't even charge me for the repair. I paid $30 to rescue a $2000 computer! Thanks so much for being the most decent shop I've ever encountered. I will be returning as long as I own Macs.

I would give them infinite stars if I could!!!!! Rossmann Repair Group is HONEST, reliable, efficient, and very caring. My Macbook Pro (2017) had an extremely sticky and annoying spacebar and was supposed to be eligible for Apple's free keyboard replacement service, so I took it into an Apple authorized repair shop. That shop took five days to open it after I dropped it off and then called me to say that since the internal liquid sensors went off, Apple would be charging me $1200 flat fee to make "any necessary repairs." So I took it to Rossmann and explained the situation. They first opened up the laptop and assessed the liquid damage. Rossmann assured me that there was no liquid inside the computer and everything would remain fine, they just had to replace my entire keyboard unfortunately. I planned to take the laptop home and think about it, but I turned around and brought it back to Rossmann because I figured the problem wouldn't get any better if I left it alone. They asked me to wait a few minutes in the store while they looked at it, and less than 10 minutes later came back and had fixed the stickiness by tweaking with the spacebar. Rossmann did all this for me FREE OF CHARGE. I will never go to any other computer or phone repair company.

Well Apple Care doesn't care that much unless instead of repair, they'd tell you to buy a mac product. I went in and they suggested it at first. I declined when they told me the price difference for a brand new macbook pro and the price to repair the one I currently possess. Now they said 755 for water damage, and honestly I was at my wit's end. Until I saw their vid, from one to another, I went to the store explained my situation in detail. Price, probable damage, and others, with a fair price. Well I'm writing from said mac, paid less, it was less severe than what Apple thought and I was satisfied completely by Rossman Group's service. I would recommend them to all of my family/friends. Thank You once again.

After spilling beer on my 2020 macbook pro keyboard, I mailed my computer from St. Louis to the Rossmann Repair Group. I was surprised by how quickly they were able to look at it! They replaced my sticky keyboard and shipped it back to me less than a month after I dropped it at UPS (even with the holidays!). The keyboard is working great now, and it was a huge comfort to know that there was no damage or corrosion on the more sensitive parts of my laptop. I was hesitant about shipping off my laptop to a shop in another state, but this truly was a great and easy experience. And it was definitely miles better than paying Apple $1300 for a laptop worth $650 when there wasn't even any major damage!

I spilled liquid on my laptop a few months ago and thought I was completely out and had to buy a new Macbook. My husband showed me their YouTube channel and I was shocked. We sent my laptop in, they couldn't repair a part and had to replace it completely but they fixed my laptop 100% and it's working as if it was asleep for a few months. I am SHOCKED because I thought I would have to spend $$$$ on a new laptop which I don't have the money for. Now I know why you are having these many stars :)Preface : A day before Christmas, unfortunately I spilled hot tea on my macbook pro and the panic started. Having a complete newbee to apple damage, I ended up at Apple Care where I got an estimate of 1200 bucks. It was sufficient to make me faint.I lost complete hopes and felt like stranded. I searched a lot on google and found multiple sites where they claimed that they will repair it in days time. But somehow reading all stars for Rossmann, I decided to go there. All the vacations and the workload they had, it took a while to get the laptop back as it was on day 1 but they nailed Apple Care in all ways.Service : Just as heard, got it repaired in exact timeframe as it was committed (couple of days in advance actually). Amazing service and clear communication on everything. I was told to call after 3 weeks (vacations and work load as mentioned) so I decided not to call in between and they themselves called me before that time.Quality : Seems just like day 1 when I first saw my laptop.Price : I had to pay only 40% of what I was told at Apple Care.. Nailed it completely.Advise : Don't be idiot like me to spill on the liquid on your laptop. If you somehow achieve to be an idiot, land up here.Recommended for sure :)

I would give this place and service 10 stars if I could. I spilled the smallest amount of water on my 2015 Macbook Air space bar (the size of a quarter). It was in perfect condition before that. The computer bugged out and shut down. I went to the Apple Genius Bar to get it looked at and hopefully fixed. Though friendly, they did nothing to actually help and just told me that I didn't get water on the hard drive, but since it wasn't turning on, I needed to buy a new laptop - never again will I go there. A friend I was complaining to suggested Rossman Group, which I wasn't far from so I thought it was worth a trip - and it certainly was! I regret not getting the service guy's name, but he assessed the issue and told me I only needed to replace the track pad cable ($75 + tax), while teaching me some things about hardware along the way (i.e. rice does nothing for liquid damage, Macbook Air's after 2017 are garbage, the screw driver to open your computer safely is a WHIA Pentable 4, etc). I've never been so thrilled to spend $75 before - vs. the $1,100 Apple tried to get me out of me for a new machine. My computer was saved and works perfectly as it should. Could not be more grateful - a miracle on First Avenue!

Trust the reviews. This place has great customer service, honest pricing and amazing turnaround time. Water spilled on my laptop unbeknownst to me and sat for days. It wouldn't turn on nor charge. I opened it up to find water w/ rust and corrosion and immediately made a Genius Bar appointment then scoured the internet for other solutions since I hadn't backed up my stuff, ever, and didn't want to lose anything. Found the YouTube page much like many others and got an email quote. The next day I took the hour and a half drive because the reviews seemed consistent and I didn't want to hear the bad news I knew I'd get from Apple. Got a brief diagnosis when I got there and later on that night they called and told me it would be an easy fix. Went over pricing with me every step of the way. I had to get a new keyboard, battery and something else I'm not remembering. Total repair cost w/ tax: $598.Dropped off Friday 12/04 for repairs. Picked up Monday 12/07 fixed.Highly recommend for water damage issues.read more

The experience here is shockingly easy and transparent. My 2015 Macbook Air was soaked in dirty bleach water (leaked onto the open laptop from a hole right above in the ceiling, caused by asshat housemates upstairs who decided to clean their hole-ridden wooden floors by dumping a bunch of bleach on it--can't make this stuff up)... laptop only worked while connected to a power source, and when it was turned on, it made a helluva sound from the fan. I brought it into the Apple store. The genius told me that the logicboard was affected and it would cost 775+ to ship out for repair. The same man then told me to check out Rossmann Repair Group across town... I followed his suggestion. Walked into the store, laptop was opened up immediately. I was told logicboard is fine but battery and trackpad/track cable need to be replaced. They gave me the price ($275). I said ok! They made the repair. I was out of there in 15 minutes with a fully functioning laptop.I love this place.read more
