Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.

macbook water damage repair

As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

When you come to Rossmann’s, WE fix it!

What sets Rossmann Repair Group apart? Most companies must outsource component-level motherboard repair because they don’t know how to do it or they don’t have the necessary tools. With Rossmann Group, the buck stops here. We repair your Macbook, we repair your logic board, and you only deal with us. Our company has helped instruct thousands of other repair technicians on how to perform these repairs via free YouTube contentguides, and personal instruction

Couldn't ask for a better experience. I spilled liquid on my Macbook Air. It wasn't a big spill, but I sent it to Rossman Repair and they cleaned it, fixed the wonky charging port, and unstuck a few keys. All of this for the cost of shipping! I can't recommend them enough. It took two weeks for the mail in repair, and most of that was shipping time. They were professional and responsive to top if off!

5 star ratingSo happy someone recommended this place. They charged me half of what Apple quoted me for a small spill on my MacBook Air. And although they said it would take 7-10 days, they emailed to say my computer was ready in 2. It's literally running like its brand new. I'm so grateful! The staff is fabulous! The guy who takes the computers is super friendly and helpful. And the front desk guy who quotes you is knowledgeable, fast, and cute. Im so excited to have saved $400. I'll be much more careful from now on. And God willing I won't have to come back.

Got my Mac waterspilled. Quoted me a price and said they would try and if it didn't succeed they wouldn't charge! They tried changing the cpu 3 times but unfortunately due to Apple restricting parts, they couldn't do more but still a pleasant experience and much appreciated. 10/10 would go back again for more apple needs in the future.

5 star ratingAmazing repair service. My Macbook Air 2015 had water damage from me being tired and knocking over Poland Springs Sparkling Lemon Water. It was a logic board fix for $250. My repair was finished in 2 days which I was surprised and grateful for as I thought it would take a much longer time to fix. Going in, I think customers need to expect that there is a chance that their product may not be fixed depending on how severe damage is. I think what really made me have a wow feeling was how organized the process was. Basically, you go in, they inspect your computer internal and then quote you a price only if they are able to fix it. Their website is very useful on getting updates from the technicians. The front desk person (Kevin?) was very effective at getting things done in an efficient yet polite way.

5 star ratingNice Honest business. Apple told me it would be $1,600 to fix my laptop due to spilled water without touching it. Brought it here and was quoted $450. Luckily it was a smaller repair and walked or passing under$200. Was a little dustier than when I left it, and they took care of it before I left.

5 star ratingi called two reputable apple repair shops that are still open during this pandemic to fix my macbook pro which had a bit of water damage - rossman & mikey's hook up in williamsburg.i called mikey's first to ask if they could possibly give me a ballpark estimate over the phone and turnaround time. the person who answered was rude, refused to give any sort of pricing, said it would cost $80 just to look at it, and turnaround times are at least 3 weeks right now. then i called rossman's, which is twice as far from me. the person who picked up was professional, took the time to give me a range of ballpark prices depending on different possibilities, said there is no diagnostic fee, and estimated a 5-7 day turnaround.i immediately chose rossman's. the price was reasonable + accurate to what he described, and they got it fixed for me in 3 days. plus there's a warranty. i'm glad i went the extra distance to see these guys and i've already started to recommended them.

If i could give more than 5 stars I would. Recently had my macbook air with liquid damage to be repaired with them. The first shop i took it to wanted $50 in a diagnostic fee but with barely looking at the laptop said it wasnt worth to repair. Looked up Rossmann Repair group and found they were close to me. I went by and dropped the device off with them. While I was there they were able to diagnose what the problem was, for Free! and was able to fix my problem that same day! Wouldn't recommenced that you take your Apple devices anywhere else for repairs!

My laptop was ruined from water leakage in my bag and I was so worried that all of my data would be gone. I went to Apple and they said to buy a completely new laptop, which is costly. RRG repaired my laptop in A DAY with a reasonable price and I was so relieved. Weeks later, by laptop is working perfectly. I highly recommend this company for electronic repairs!

I had spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro and I took it to a repair company near where I live. Worrying about what could be wrong, I stumbled across one of Louis' videos. I was impressed about what I had listened to, I went and picked up my computer and shipped it from Kansas. It was during the holidays and I am sure the anticipation of wanting it completed and when it actually was didn't help. However, Steve was a gem and did communicate with me when I inquired via email or by phone. I am impressed by the price of the logic board repair and their expertise. It was worth the time and effort to send this to Rossman Group. I am glad my computer is back home and I am able to continue using it. Again, thank you Rossman Group for a job well done.

My daughter brought her MacBook Air to me a the end of May complaining that the fans were blowing full-blast and that the computer was running slow. Turns out there had been a minor tea spill into the keyboard / trackpad area. We shipped the laptop to Rossman, which received the machine on 5/29. I hadn't heard back on 6/7, so sent a message and got a quick response that it was still being looked at. On 6/13, I got an update that the laptop seemed to be working OK and that they couldn't find anything physically wrong with it. I described the problem again and they took a longer look, this time reporting back that the keyboard was demonstrating some flakiness, but that it was passing all of their other tests and looked good under the microscope. I accepted their repair estimate to replace the keyboard ($225); they shipped the computer back on 6/22 and I received it back on 6/25. Unfortunately, on the first boot, the laptop fans came on full blast and the computer was obviously still throttling itself. I'm not certain who I spoke to when I called back, but they were very helpful, asking me to ship it back to them and that they would take care of it on the same day that they got it back. True to their word - they received it back on 6/28, identified the problem (trackpad cable), repaired the computer and shipped it out again the same day. We just received the computer back this afternoon (7/2) and it is now working beautifully. They charged nothing for the second (successful) attempt at repair. In total, we were out $275 including our shipping costs, which seems very reasonable considering we have a working laptop with a brand-new keyboard (and either a new trackpad or a new trackpad cable, not 100% clear which was replaced). Overall, communication was good. Outside of their automated system, they were not proactive in their communication but responded immediately to all phone / email inquiries and were always pleasant and polite to speak with. Their response to the initial failed repair was world-class. It took almost exactly one month from the day that they first received the machine until I had the working machine back in my hands. This is not a complaint, but rather information for others considering using them as a mail-order service. I expect that their turnaround time may vary depending on how busy they are. In any event, I am very satisfied with the outcome and would recommend them to anyone looking for a less-expensive and professional alternative to taking a broken phone or machine in to an Apple store.

5 star ratingVery friendly and intuitive.I went in to see if I could repair my friend's water damaged Macbook and if they couldn't fix it, I didn't have to pay anything thing. Unfortunately, it was unsalvageable, and they held true to their word. I didn't have to pay a penny for it.Despite being unable to fix an expensive laptop that I was hoping to see come alive again, I am greatly impressed by the great customer service. The gentleman at the counter helped me quickly diagnose what the issues were, what parts were damages by the water, what had corrosion, etc.If I ever somehow end up owning a MacBook myself, I will definitely be coming to these guys should it fail on me.Keep up the good work
