Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.

macbook water damage repair

As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

When you come to Rossmann’s, WE fix it!

What sets Rossmann Repair Group apart? Most companies must outsource component-level motherboard repair because they don’t know how to do it or they don’t have the necessary tools. With Rossmann Group, the buck stops here. We repair your Macbook, we repair your logic board, and you only deal with us. Our company has helped instruct thousands of other repair technicians on how to perform these repairs via free YouTube contentguides, and personal instruction

They were fair and honest when I had a Mac book pro brought to them. My brother spilled something on it and they only charged for a cleaning. Apple wanted to charge over $800 for a new board.

I spilled a spoonful of milk and cereal on my Macbook Air and two weeks later, the wifi stops working. I walked in for a diagnosis and it turned out that replacing the wifi card twice didn't work. One of his employees told me that something was wrong with the logic board and it'd be $325. I accepted this, knowing Apple would have charged me twice the price most likely. Two days later, I get a call in the morning that my machine is ready for pickup. I get there and ask the guy how much it'd be and he told me they won't actually charge me, and instead asked for a good tip. I left $40 in the tip jar. So there you go folks. 40 bucks for what would have cost hundreds at Apple. Skip the Apple Store and take your machine to Rossmann.

These guys are LEGIT! Don't waste your time with anyone else. I had water damage in a newer iphone and had YEARS of pics which were not backed up. I was given a cost and time estimate reflective of what was on their website. Their service exceeded the high-points of both estimates. It was definitely not a drop-in the bucket cost, but worth the service. I was notified 24 hours later that my data recovery was complete. Unfortunately, my phone was not repairable but that didn't matter much to me anyway. Great service with these guys and glad to find them locally as well. If you're not in NYC- they will coordinate with you.

Sent Rossmann Repair a 5 year old MacBook Air that had water spilled on it and would not boot up. The Apple Genius Bar had stated that with the damage from the liquid it was not worth repairing (too costly / no guarantee it would continue to work). Within a few days I received a notification from Rossmann that it had been fixed and I only owed $25 for return shipping. Turns out just a cable to the trackpad/keyboard needed to be replaced, which Rossmann did at no cost to me. So for $41 ($16 to ship there, plus $25 for return), I now have a working MacBook back in hand! Highly recommend Rossmann Repair for all of your Apple repair needs.

5 star ratingCan't recommend this place enough! I'm from out of state and was referred to Rossmann repair by a friend. I spilled water all over my Apple laptop and they fixed it good as new at the fraction of the cost that Apple and another local repair place in MD wanted to do it. Easy to mail in for an estimate and they send it back in perfect condition. They stayed in great communication and got it back to me quick. If you're thinking of using this place, do it!

5 star ratingCan't recommend them and their services enough. I spilled coffee on my MacBook Air keyboard, and it shut down and wouldn't turn on after a few days. I remembered seeing their repair videos on youtube a while back so I figured I'd give them a shot. They received my computer on Monday and had it back on my doorstep Friday, spotless and working as if nothing had happened. Their rates are excellent considering it also includes the return shipping of the computer. 10/10

I had a user who spilled a latte on his 2017 15" MacBook Pro. I called around to local repair shops (Buffalo, NY) to try and get a quote to have cleaning done. One said, "Because were an Apple AASP, Apple doesn't allow us to give quotes for liquid damage repair over the phone, and we have to follow whatever Apple says we need to do, so you'll have to bring it in."Because of this I figured they'd simply want to replace all the parts that came in contact with liquid and the service would cost somewhere around 1500$.I had heard of Louis Rossmanns shop before; I myself am an IT professional and enjoy watching his videos and hearing his commentary on various topics. But I honestly never actually thought I'd send his shop something to fix. Not because I was worried about the quality of repair, or the cost, only because I never thought I'd need to ship a Mac all the way to Austin to get it fixed. But, I did.I called up Rossmann Repair, and immediately was given a very reasonable quote over the phone. After which I began the process and shipped the Mac to Rossmann Repair to be cleaned initially, and if anything else was wrong, they'd replace the keyboard and or perform board repair depending on how much damage actually occurred. In any case it was soooo much less than purchasing a new device or having an AASP work on it.Throughout the process communication was great. The ticket was updated as soon as any new information was available. In about a week I was notified that the repair was complete and all that was needed was the ultrasonic cleaning. Instead of paying 1500$ for a repair I had a mere 100$ cost for cleaning plus the amount it cost me to ship it to them! The Mac is back with its user, has the new nickname "Latte Mac", and is working just as good as before it had a latte dumped all over it.I would highly recommend anyone needing a repair on their Mac to contact Rossmann Repair because I'm sure they'll do a great job and cost so much less than an AASP. Either way, I will definitely be doing business with them again if ever I need a Mac repaired.

5 star ratingMy daughter brought her MacBook Air to me a the end of May complaining that the fans were blowing full-blast and that the computer was running slow. Turns out there had been a minor tea spill into the keyboard / trackpad area. We shipped the laptop to Rossman, which received the machine on 5/29. I hadn't heard back on 6/7, so sent a message and got a quick response that it was still being looked at. On 6/13, I got an update that the laptop seemed to be working OK and that they couldn't find anything physically wrong with it. I described the problem again and they took a longer look, this time reporting back that the keyboard was demonstrating some flakiness, but that it was passing all of their other tests and looked good under the microscope. I accepted their repair estimate to replace the keyboard ($225); they shipped the computer back on 6/22 and I received it back on 6/25. Unfortunately, on the first boot, the laptop fans came on full blast and the computer was obviously still throttling itself. I'm not certain who I spoke to when I called back, but they were very helpful, asking me to ship it back to them and that they would take care of it on the same day that they got it back. True to their word - they received it back on 6/28, identified the problem (trackpad cable), repaired the computer and shipped it out again the same day. We just received the computer back this afternoon (7/2) and it is now working beautifully. They charged nothing for the second (successful) attempt at repair. In total, we were out $275 including our shipping costs, which seems very reasonable considering we have a working laptop with a brand-new keyboard (and either a new trackpad or a new trackpad cable, not 100% clear which was replaced). Overall, communication was good. Outside of their automated system, they were not proactive in their communication but responded immediately to all phone / email inquiries and were always pleasant and polite to speak with. Their response to the initial failed repair was world-class. It took almost exactly one month from the day that they first received the machine until I had the working machine back in my hands. This is not a complaint, but rather information for others considering using them as a mail-order service. I expect that their turnaround time may vary depending on how busy they are. In any event, I am very satisfied with the outcome and would recommend them to anyone looking for a less-expensive and professional alternative to taking a broken phone or machine in to an Apple store.

5 star ratingTwice was saved by Rossmann Repair. First it was liquid damaged MacBook Air, now Iphone SE 2020 who conveniently, after 1 year manufacturer warranty ran out, threw vertical stripes over the screen. Very reasonable repair pricing. Both times used mail in option, since parking nearby is “mission impossible”.

5 star ratingI initially took my water-damaged MacBook Air to the Genius Bar in VA. The technician took my laptop apart and informed me that the water spill on my laptop had already caused corrosion on my logic board (which is why my laptop was still able to power on however to an almost black screen). He then asked if I have ever heard of Rossmann Group in NY--I have never heard of Rossmann Group nor seen Louis' YouTube videos. After some research, I was confident in sending my laptop to NY for an estimate. The group was able to give me an estimate and service my laptop (which included a logic board repair, LCD cable and battery replacement) all for HALF the price of Apple's flat fix rate. The entire process from sending it in to receiving my newly repaired laptop took exactly two weeks! During the span of those two weeks, I spoke to three different technicians on call who were happy to answer any of my questions. All were aware of my device and what's going on due to how organized they were. My laptop works like new and I am so happy with the service they provided. Highly recommend this place and thankful to the Apple technician who led me here.

5 star ratingI love this place SO much. I unfortunately spilled about 16oz of water across my keyboard (with protector) on my MacBook Pro 2015, and did everything I could immediately to try and save it- wiped it down, turned it off, turned it upside down and brought it to be cleaned soon as the computer repair store across the street from me was open the next day. The technician there said it was really promising and would call me in about an hour. He held onto my computer for nearly a week and said it was not worth the repair. That he could try to replace the logic board- but that would be $600+ and may need more parts. I called an Apple approved repair shop in a neighboring town and they said they couldn't repair it because the logic board for this model wasn't even available to them and to just buy a refurbished or used one online for $600-$800. I did some research and found Rossmann Repair Group and decided to give them a try after talking with someone over the phone to get an estimate and confirmation that they would accept mail-ins and also not charge if they couldn't fix it which seemed totally worth it compared to the other options I found. I followed the form online, sent it in, and received a timely quote for $250 ($75 less than estimated over the phone!) They did the repairs I authorized and I now have my repaired computer back after 1 week! I could not recommend enough. You can even pay extra for an even speedier repair and shipping if needed. Thank you so much!

These guys are the BEST...capable, honest, fast and the best prices in Austin! I spilled Diet Coke all over my Macbook Air keyboard and thought that was the kiss of death. They were able to repair it and replace all of the damaged parts for less than 1/5 the price that Apple or one of the other "Official Apple Repair Centers" was going to charge. They have another customer for life

I have a water-damaged 13" MBPro, and was looking for help. When I called, they were SUPER-knowledgable and actually gave me the advice NOT to repair my old and not-very-valuable computer. Rossmann could have just taken my money, but he gave me a lot of direct, in-depth and helpful information for nothing more than a thank you.In the event that I have something worth repairing, Rossmann will be my first stop.
