If your Macbook is too far damaged to be worth repairing, you can take it back at no cost. If you are local, come to our store. Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.
As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

Giving a price without seeing the device, assessing its condition is impossible. Everyone feels better having some basic idea of what things may cost, so for a basic idea, see below. Please do note that drives that have been opened before are rarely if ever recoverable by us: mention this prior to sending it in as we rarely work on pre-worked on drives.

Saved me from buying a new early 2015 MBP before its time was up. i didnt get to write this review at the time, as it was around the time RRG moved, and there was some issue about putting in reviews at that time. My glass of water was sitting next to the computer, and I reached for something...and knocked it over right onto the keyboard. YIkes. Anyway, I sent it to RRG and about week later, it was returned fixed. That was almost a year and a half ago, and I am writing this review on it right now. The experience here is shockingly easy and transparent. My 2015 Macbook Air was soaked in dirty bleach water (leaked onto the open laptop from a hole right above in the ceiling, caused by asshat housemates upstairs who decided to clean their hole-ridden wooden floors by dumping a bunch of bleach on it--can't make this stuff up)... laptop only worked while connected to a power source, and when it was turned on, it made a helluva sound from the fan. I brought it into the Apple store. The genius told me that the logicboard was affected and it would cost 775+ to ship out for repair. The same man then told me to check out Rossmann Repair Group across town... I followed his suggestion. Walked into the store, laptop was opened up immediately. I was told logicboard is fine but battery and trackpad/track cable need to be replaced. They gave me the price ($275). I said ok! They made the repair. I was out of there in 15 minutes with a fully functioning laptop.I love this place.read more

Amazing repair service. My Macbook Air 2015 had water damage from me being tired and knocking over Poland Springs Sparkling Lemon Water. It was a logic board fix for $250. My repair was finished in 2 days which I was surprised and grateful for as I thought it would take a much longer time to fix. Going in, I think customers need to expect that there is a chance that their product may not be fixed depending on how severe damage is. I think what really made me have a wow feeling was how organized the process was. Basically, you go in, they inspect your computer internal and then quote you a price only if they are able to fix it. Their website is very useful on getting updates from the technicians. The front desk person (Kevin?) was very effective at getting things done in an efficient yet polite way.

I cannot say enough good things about Rossman Repair Group. Amazing value for the money, outstanding customer service, quick turnaround. If you have a broken Macbook, this is the place to go. A friend spilled water on their Macbook and it wouldn't power on. A local shop quoted them $3500 (!!!) just to attempt to recover the data. So my friend reached out to me and asked if there was anything I could do. I did some homework and found out that this particular Macbook (as with many Macs) had its SSD soldered to the board. So data recovery would indeed be a challenge. But $3500? Ridiculous. After I determined that I could not perform the repair or recovery myself, I came across Rossman Repair Group. While they are in Texas, their mail-in service is clearly a big part of their business, and the estimate for data recovery was literally 90% less than what the local shop wanted - $350 plus shipping. Their online service for setting up the repair and mailing it in was top notch - they have clearly been doing this for a long time. Communication was outstanding, with a tech reaching out every step of the way and clearly describing what was possible, how much it would cost, and how long it would take. Even their terms of service are written in Plain English and not Inscrutable Legalese! $370 later, I got my friend's data back, in a little over a week from the time I mailed the computer out. That price included the data extraction, the portable drive to hold the recovered data, and return shipping.

Two years ago I spilled nail polisher remover all over my 2015 Macbook Pro keyboard because I am an idiot. I thought it was a goner so I didn't bother to take it to the Genius Bar as I figured the cost of repair would be just as high as a new machine. It just sat in a drawer for about a year until my friend in IT highly recommended the Rossman Repair Group. I shipped my laptop to NY from SF expecting to get a high price quote back from them but that was not the case! I gave the green light on the repair and got my laptop back in about a week. The tech who worked on my laptop was responsive and did a great job. It's been about 6 months since the repair and it works great. I highly recommend RRG's services to anyone who needs their Apple products fixed especially if the Apple Genius quote you some non-sense cost of repair or tell you to replace it.

Nice Honest business. Apple told me it would be $1,600 to fix my laptop due to spilled water without touching it. Brought it here and was quoted $450. Luckily it was a smaller repair and walked or passing under$200. Was a little dustier than when I left it, and they took care of it before I left.

I sent in my system for liquid damage. Service was great and within the timelines they detailed in their communications with me. In addition, they were honest, transparent, and patient when discussing what they found and what my repair options were. In addition, they did QC checks when the repair was done. What can I say? These guys are the best at what they do. I brought in a 2019 Macbook Pro that suffered from an entire beer bottle spill. At the end of all the repairs, a month later of getting it back, it kept panicking and shutting off with high cpu usage tasks. They then refunded me the repair costs since it was not able to be saved. I ended up also selling it to them for parts and now happy with my Lenovo. My two friends who I also referred are super happy with their services as well. They are also just finished a hard drive recovery and transferred the data to a new hard drive for me. Top notch service and fairness. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

I came back here for the second time earlier this year when I spilled water on my brand new 2019 macbook pro 15". Right when the water spilled, I turned it off, left it open, flipped it upside down and left it there for 3 days with a fan on it. Then I took it in to have it looked at. They told me that since it's so new, they didn't have any parts for it and wouldn't for a while, but they could still take a look at it and clean it thoroughly for free. The man working on it showed me where the water had gotten and told me what he was seeing the entire time. The only thing that ended up being damaged was the screen; the whole left side was filled with water. He said it would probably stay that way, but it wouldn't hurt anything. About a month and a half later, it dried up 99% and there's only one tiny piece left of it! So it's completely damage free. Again, this is the only place I'll ever go because I know everyone here is reliable and honest and kind. :)

I was referred to Rossman by several friends/family. I splashed a small amount of water on my MacBook Air keyboard and track pad and powered it down quickly after. I was unable to turn the computer back on after waiting 48 hrs. Apple Genius Bar informed me I would have to pay 800 to replace the logic board. I stopped into Rossman and they had my computer up and running in 15 minutes with a quick change of wire that was damaged due to the minimal water damage. I was so impressed with how quickly they resolved my issue and the fact that they did not charge me for services!! Thank you Rossman computer!read more

Mit kaputten Macbook (liquid damage) nach New York gereist, schlecht gelaunt da es vmt. auf einen Logic Board-Wechsel bei Apple hinausgelaufen wäre mit Kosten von über 1000Euro. Zufällig über diesen Laden gestolpert, sah von aussen ein bisschen schäbig aus - innen wurde einem aber schnell klar, dass da Profis am Werk sind. Allgemeinen Kostenvoranschlag für einen Wasserschaden von ca. 450 Dollar bekommen, welcher deutlich unter dem Preis von Apple gelegen hätte. Nach 5 Tagen Macbook zurück bekommen, sehr glücklich da ich nur 100 Dollar zahlen musste, aufgrund des doch sehr geringen Schadens. Kann diesen Laden jedem sehr empfehlen, auch wenn man nur kurz in New York ist...
