You might have to leave your Macbook, but we will give you an assessment of what the liquid spill damaged, and what would need to be fixed, at no charge! If your Macbook is too far damaged to be worth repairing, you can take it back at no cost. If you are local, come to our store. Macbook spill damage is serious because it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but it’s not unfixable. At Apple, you will hear quotes of $750 to $1600 to repair Macbook water damage. Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board with an overpriced tier 3 or tier 4 repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s easier for them to gouge your wallet by replacing everything.
As soon as you get liquid in your Macbook you should stop using it. Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through shorted wet components causing it to look like the board in the picture below. Even when the damage is this extensive we can repair it, but it is best to minimize damage so we have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.

Giving a price without seeing the device, assessing its condition is impossible. Everyone feels better having some basic idea of what things may cost, so for a basic idea, see below. Do realize the + means price can go up! Please do note that drives that have been opened before are rarely if ever recoverable by us: mention this prior to sending it in as we rarely work on pre-worked on drives.

Sent Rossmann Repair a 5 year old MacBook Air that had water spilled on it and would not boot up. The Apple Genius Bar had stated that with the damage from the liquid it was not worth repairing (too costly / no guarantee it would continue to work). Within a few days I received a notification from Rossmann that it had been fixed and I only owed $25 for return shipping. Turns out just a cable to the trackpad/keyboard needed to be replaced, which Rossmann did at no cost to me. So for $41 ($16 to ship there, plus $25 for return), I now have a working MacBook back in hand! Highly recommend Rossmann Repair for all of your Apple repair needs.

They are the best, they fixed my computer, which I thought it was a lost case! I spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro, it was a lot of coffee! I took it to an apple approved repair shop and they told me that it was going to cost me more than a new computer, and that I should consider it a total loss. At this point I had no warranty, I did not buy a protection plan, and the computer was only 1 year old. At least I needed to recover my data, and this apple approved place told me it was going to be $2,100. I decided to ship my laptop to the Rossmann Repair Group, and they did an amazing job communicating with me about any updates. They estimated to repair it for $700, and then told me it was only going to cost me $425. I was very happy. They shipped it back for free, and now I have my computer working "almost perfectly" (some keys are a little sticky, and the mouse pad a little sensible), but I have all my data, which I immediately saved into an external hard drive. I highly recommend them.

Still in shock!! Rossmann Repair Group is AMAZING! Was planning to toss out our MacBook Air after a small water spill rendered it useless -- would have been more than it originally cost to repair through Apple. But, seriously, in the space of ONE WEEK, this company had it evaluated, quoted, repaired AND shipped back to me, all for about 20% of what Apple planned to charge. I found out about them through Reddit and immediately felt comfortable sending my MacBook Air there with how many positive reviews they got through just Reddit. It took maybe a week and a half from the time I sent my computer to when they said it was finished and being shipped back to me! So easy, one simple transaction. I'm not so worried about spilling another water bottle on my computer anymore now that I know it can be fixed. Not saying I'm planning on it but they're great! I cannot say enough good things about Rossman Repair Group. Amazing value for the money, outstanding customer service, quick turnaround. If you have a broken Macbook, this is the place to go. A friend spilled water on their Macbook and it wouldn't power on. A local shop quoted them $3500 (!!!) just to attempt to recover the data. So my friend reached out to me and asked if there was anything I could do. I did some homework and found out that this particular Macbook (as with many Macs) had its SSD soldered to the board. So data recovery would indeed be a challenge. But $3500? Ridiculous. After I determined that I could not perform the repair or recovery myself, I came across Rossman Repair Group. While they are in Texas, their mail-in service is clearly a big part of their business, and the estimate for data recovery was literally 90% less than what the local shop wanted - $350 plus shipping. Their online service for setting up the repair and mailing it in was top notch - they have clearly been doing this for a long time. Communication was outstanding, with a tech reaching out every step of the way and clearly describing what was possible, how much it would cost, and how long it would take. Even their terms of service are written in Plain English and not Inscrutable Legalese! $370 later, I got my friend's data back, in a little over a week from the time I mailed the computer out. That price included the data extraction, the portable drive to hold the recovered data, and return shipping.read more

Let me first note that I have been in the computer repair business since 2002. Of course, computer repair encompasses a very wide spectrum these days, and my expertise is more in Windows/Mac software, networking and general upgrades. When it comes to board/circuit repair - that's not me. I let the pro's handle it. When it comes to Apple, if it's under warranty (or the Genius Bar folks are feeling kind) I will let them do the repairs, as I'm local in Orange County, CA. Now then, liquid damage to Mac's or out-of-warranty repair I trust only one firm - Rossmann Repair Group. I'm sure there is someone here local but after watching Louis's Youtube videos and experiencing their work first hand, I can confidently recommend them. It's a $25 trip across the country USPS Priority so no big deal. I also want to take this opportunity to thank Steve in particular who stays in communication and follows up promptly when necessary. They fixed it! I was told by everyone, including the mac store, that I had to buy a new computer after I spilled coffee on my Mac book pro, and it stopped turning on. I sent it to Rossman group, and they fixed it miraculously! I am so grateful!!!

I had spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro and I took it to a repair company near where I live. Worrying about what could be wrong, I stumbled across one of Louis' videos. I was impressed about what I had listened to, I went and picked up my computer and shipped it from Kansas. It was during the holidays and I am sure the anticipation of wanting it completed and when it actually was didn't help. However, Steve was a gem and did communicate with me when I inquired via email or by phone. I am impressed by the price of the logic board repair and their expertise.
