Our published pricing covers 5 tiers from $100 (simple data transfer) to $2,000 (platter damage). The price is the same whether you walk into our Austin lab or ship from Asheville, and you see the tier pricing before you ship. Evaluation is free, and if we cannot recover your data, you pay nothing.

Asheville's high humidity can accelerate drive corrosion. Store drives in sealed anti-static bags with silica gel packets, away from windows and exterior walls. If shipping during humid months, use insulated packaging. If your drive was stored in a humid area and has failed, don't attempt to power it on repeatedly; this can worsen corrosion damage.

Asheville's cold winters can make drive components brittle and cause lubricants to thicken. Never power on a frozen drive; let it acclimate to room temperature for several hours first. When shipping during winter, use insulated packaging to protect against temperature extremes during transit.

Water-damaged drives are recovered at our Austin lab. If your drive was exposed to floodwater during a hurricane: DO NOT power it on, place it in an open container (not sealed), and ship it to us as soon as possible. The longer water sits on internal components, the more corrosion occurs. We've successfully recovered data from hurricane-damaged drives across the Gulf Coast.

If your drive was exposed to floodwater: 1) Do NOT power it on, 2) Do NOT dry it with heat, 3) Keep it in an open container at room temperature, 4) Ship it to us within 48-72 hours if possible. Water damage worsens with time as corrosion sets in. We have specialized clean bench procedures for water-damaged drives and can often recover data if the drive reaches us quickly.

Drives containing patient records, medical imaging, and research data are recovered with PC-3000 tools in our Austin lab. All work is done in-house by our technicians; we never outsource.

Your drive ships directly to our Austin lab; we never outsource recovery work. Your assigned technician is the only person who accesses your data. We maintain full chain-of-custody documentation, sign NDAs upon request, and securely wipe all working copies after delivery.
