What You Should Know
Speed depends on the failure
Some failures can't be rushed. Head replacement requires sourcing exact-match donor drives. Severe platter damage requires careful, slow imaging. We give you realistic timelines; we will not promise what we cannot deliver.
No data = no charge still applies
Even with emergency service, if we can't recover your data, you don't pay for recovery. You may still pay for expedited shipping you arranged, but that's your choice.
Don't panic-damage the drive
In panic mode, people make mistakes: running recovery software on clicking drives, opening drives themselves, going to unqualified "quick fix" shops. These reduce our chances. A damaged drive that arrives untampered has the best odds.
Emergency Service Pricing
Emergency service adds a priority fee to our standard recovery pricing:
Standard Recovery
- Simple Copy: $100
- File System Recovery: From $250
- Firmware Repair: $600–$900
- Head Swap: $1,200–$1,500
Helium-sealed drives (8TB and larger NAS or server drives such as Toshiba MG08, Seagate Exos, and WD Ultrastar) are quoted on a separate tier. See helium drive pricing.
Emergency Priority Fee
+$100 rush fee to move to the front of the queue. Added on top of the standard tier above.

Do you offer 24/7 service?
We offer extended hours for emergencies, but not true 24/7. If your situation is critical, contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Can I drop off in person for faster service?
If you're in or near Austin, TX, yes. Local drop-off at our lab skips shipping time. For everyone else, overnight courier is the fastest option.
What if my emergency turns out to be unrecoverable?
You pay nothing for recovery. We'll still do everything possible, but some damage is beyond help. We'll be honest with you immediately if the outlook is poor.
Is emergency service worth the extra cost?
That depends on your situation. If the data's value exceeds the priority fee and timing matters, yes. For non-critical recoveries, standard service works fine. We'll help you decide.
