Chris Piskorz - Lead Data Recovery Technician

Chris (Bogumił) Piskorz is the lead hard drive data recovery technician at Rossmann Repair Group in Austin, TX. He runs the PC-3000 systems in our lab and handles both walk-in and mail-in recoveries from across the country.

PC-3000 Training from ACE Lab

Chris completed two advanced PC-3000 courses from ACE Lab Europe in July 2024. The Seagate course covers F3 architecture, Rosewood firmware repair, translator regeneration, and Media Cache recovery. The Western Digital course covers ROM patching, T2 translator corruption, hardware encryption handling, and Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) unlocking. Both courses are taught by the engineers who develop PC-3000.

HEX Akademia Training

In April 2025, Chris traveled to HEX Akademia in Kobysewo, Poland for 10 days of hands-on training. He completed both the basic and advanced HDD/SSHD recovery programs back-to-back. The basic program covers diagnostic workflows, SMART data interpretation, firmware identification, and file system recovery. The advanced program covers head stack assembly replacement, platter transplants, donor drive matching, and clean bench procedures for severely damaged drives.
