Data Recovery in Austin, Texas
A technician walks through a real recovery case in our Austin lab, from plugging in the drive to pulling data off with PC-3000.

What the Video Shows
The video covers the initial assessment phase of a failed hard drive. The technician connects the drive to diagnostic equipment, auto-detects its parameters, reads the capacity and serial number, and checks firmware status. This non-invasive first step determines whether the drive can be recovered without opening it.
From there, the drive goes to PC-3000 for deeper diagnosis. The system connects directly to the drive's microcontroller and service area, allowing the technician to access protected firmware, identify and work around bad heads, and image the drive sector-by-sector even when it will not operate normally.
Why This Matters for Failed Drives
Professional diagnostic equipment reveals the failure type before any invasive work begins. A drive with firmware corruption gets a different treatment path than a drive with a failed head or a damaged platter. Getting the diagnosis right on the first attempt prevents further damage and gives the drive its best chance at recovery.
